When I hit the power button the keypad lights up but the screen or anything else doesn't turn on

When I first got my PEBL, I thought that to charge it you had to connect it to a computer USB port. Now when i turn it on, the keyboard flashes, but that's all that happens.

    Can anyone help me?

It is possible that the EPROM in the phone is corrupted. It is also possible that there is a hardware defect on the circuit board. I have also seen a bad battery cause this.

Take your phone to the service rep to properly check the phone. If it only needs the firmware re-installed, this is not very expensive if you have to pay for the service. If the phone requires hardware service, which means a new circuit board or battery, and it if it is out of warranty, then this will be costly.

Try to Initialize the Spool Disk: NOTE: Initializing the spool disk will delete all jobs in all queues. This procedure can be used when a corrupt job has caused the printer to stop printing. This procedure can also be used to correct certain machine faults.
  1. Press the ON / OFF switch. The power switch is located on the front right side of the machine under the Control Panel.

  2. Wait until the Touch Screen goes blank (this may take several minutes).

CAUTION: Make sure to press the correct buttons all at the same time. An incorrect button combination may delete all customized printer settings.

  3. Press and hold down the [6] button on the numeric keypad, the [Energy Saver] and the [Stop] buttons simultaneously while powering ON the machine. Continue to hold down the three buttons until the Touch Screen displays several lines, goes blank and then displays lines again.
  4. Release the buttons. The machine will continue its normal boot up procedure to initialize the spool disk.

I synced it added music but when i unpluggd it all my music was gone

Press the MODE button to enter "Music Mode". Press the MODE button again and highlight "Local Folder". Keep pressing the MODE button until you reach the album titles and then press the PREVIOUS button and then press the MODE button again. This will bring you to the root directory of your music files. Remember that if you pause too long before pressing the MODE button, it will return you to the first song that appeared when you first entered "Music Mode" and you will have to start over. Once you get to the route directory, press the NEXT or PREVIOUS buttons until you highlight the artist you want to listen to. Press the MODE button again and repeat the last method to select the album and song you want to listen to. Good Luck!!! This is not a user friendly device and even with the instruction manual it took me a while to figure out. I hope this helps.

I listened to messages and now there is static from the phone even when no lines are connected. Panasonic KX-T7433

Without pressing anything else, press "1" on the keypad. It turns off the background music you don't have.

Not trying to be a smart @#@!! but have you carefully looked at the programing for your key pads? There is a sequence pattern that can be followed that will allow you to override other keypads so that one keypad controls everything. Go back and read the instructions on how to program the keypads for different functions.

Motorola pebl

I had the exact same problem. Take the phone apart and wipe down he keypad with an alcohol soaked (very mild) q-tip. Let it dry and re-assemble the phone. It all works now!

There are 4 tiny screws under the back cover, unscrew all 4 (home depot carries the little star attachment in most tool sets). Then lift the blue cover off the keypad, the board in the middle stays attached to the headset. There is a little black rubber piece by the USB port keep an eye on it. Also do not pull the board away from the headset, you'll break a tiny silver ribbon.

To re-assemble just tuck the board back in the blue case, tighten the top screws half way. Flip over and tuck the side button connections in, then slip the face plate in top first and press down. Tighten remaining screws and you're done.
