What exactly cant you get into? does it boot? is it asking for a windows password or a boot password?
If its asking for a windows password just reinstall teh OS from teh factory restore cd's. if you dont have the restore cd's contact the manufacturer and provide the serial for the laptop they may charge but its worth it.
if it is asking for a boot password you need to find a repair technician to reset the BIOS which can involve taking the thing completely apart and finding the BIOS battery and removing it for a while.

I get a blue screen and cant log on reboots

I'm not an expert but I have had plenty of experiance with computer problems. When my Gateway had the same problem I took it to the Geek Squad (Best Buy). They called it the blue screen of death L.O.L! They said that it means the hard drive blew. I had a warrenty, but if I wouldn't have I was qouted a price of $159.99 to put in the new drive, plus extra charges to reprogram it if I didn't already have a back-up disc. I hope I'm wrong. Goodluck!

I bought a Toshiba Satellite L505D-S6952 at A swap meet. They didnt tell me the Password -now I cant find them and I cant use my laptop because I cant bypass the password. please can you help me????

Sure are you looking for the bios password or the OS password?
If your looking for the OS password you can use an program that is advailble on line to recover the password, this will cost you money to get.
I would say to buy the OS cd and reload the system..

You can order replacement cd's from them, or just go buy an OS cd from your computer shop.

Black spots on screen in the top corner and bottem of screen

how big are the black spots? are they pixel size? i have one black spot too but its called a "dead pixel" when ya buy laptops these days, sometimes...they will have a dead pixel gaurentee for like 25 dollars, but i didnt choose that so now im stuck with one annoying dead pixel on my 5 thousand dollar laptop but im fine with it i guess. when my screen gets bad, im rich enough to just replace the whole screen anyway. dead pixels cant be fixed i dont think just replaced by the whole screen.

Dropped my laptop- screen cracked

I would recommend locating a local computer repair shop that doesn't have a well known name around your town.

They tend to keep many extra parts of laptops lying around and it's as simple as finding a match and replacing the LCD panel.

The smaller shops may have better deals than the larger, but it might be smart to contact Dell as well on the same matter.

I have an Acer Aspire 4520 and the piece that connects the power cord on the inside of the laptop is broken. Do I have to buy the whole bored or can I just buy the piece that the part is connected to?

that requires dismantling the laptop, get to the power supply part, and replacing the jack. after you are done reassemble it. easy. if you cant do it, visit your local service center.

I cant get it to open up/work

The drop probably jarred quite a few things in the comp The spring may have fell of the door latch, capacitors, memory chips, bios chips may have gotten loose as well. Possibly power supply has broke if it is not getting any power to unit. You could always just buy a new motherboard since you have all the other parts you need for it.. Cheaper than buying another whole unit.

Power cord

You can buy a power plug and solder it to the wires. You need to be careful so that the polarity of the plug is correct for the laptop, if you reverse the wires you can damage the laptop. If you are not sure, get a computer service techo to do the fix.

Can i upgrade

You wouldn't be voiding the warranty if you will buy the memory from Acer or ask them to walk you through installing it. You can call their tech support over the phone for assistance.

You have to know though that your laptop may just have two slots for the memory. That means you have to discard one or both the cards to install bigger RAM's.

Should you buy a non-Acer memory card, the warranty for the whole system should not be voided. But if the installation of the 3rd party memory card causes one of the parts of your computer to be defective, the warranty cant be used to replace that part.

Still, it's better to check the terms and conditions in their website. Just choose the warranty that you bought with the system here.

To be safe, better buy the memory from Acer or have them help you install it.
