What is causing misfeeding?

Either the paper is slipping and not reaching the sensors at the right time. or a sensor flag is broken/missing/out/stuck and the device stops the paper thinking there's a jam. Clean all the paper feed rollers with a clean lint-free towel and water only. See if that will improve the grip of the rollers. If they appear shiny, replace the rollers. They are too worn out to continue working properly.

Hi, My Lexmark E232 printer is on but will not print. The light second from the bottom is orange. Help!!

That second from the bottom orange light indicates a paper jam. Press Continue to resume printing once all the jammed pages are cleared from the paper path. Press Continue twice quickly to see the secondary error code. See "Secondary error codes" on page 69 of the user manual for more information.

Here's a link to the manual: http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/e230/eng/ug.pdf

My dell 944 is misfeeding on the left side of the paper. How do I repair the device?

Check for foreign objects in the paper path (I did a lot of these and pulled everything from hair curlers to dead mice!), if it's not this then contact Lexmark for a replacement paper roller, this is a common problem with Lexmark printers (Dell just rebadge them).

More frequent paper jams are occurring in our 3 year old e230 printer. Is it time to replace or does it just need a cleaning?

try cleaning and replace the cart and drum device. that is all it might be. But remember by fixing things for a while, we will be sitting in the past as fast as the new future flies by our door. every 3 to 5 years is a good food for thought time frame

Paper jam

What that sounds like is misfeeding.
Remove your paper tray and take a soapy cleaner, like formula 109 or fantastic and thoroughly clean the rollers.
If that helps and it statrs misfeeding in a day or two, you probably have slick rollers.
Watch inside the paper feed. Make sure the paper is going against the rollers then see if they just spin on the paper.
