The freezer defrosted itself and wont refreeze. The two lights keep flashing and bleep every three hours

Is the compressor running? if it is running, but there is no cooling, it is time to buy a new freezer.
If the compressor is NOT running, I would suspect the compressor start relay.
How did you defrost it?

Turn the power off to the refrigerator and manually defrost the freezer until the freezer bis no longer cold and then replug the power cord

Scenario:

When the defrost timer on your self defrosting unit closes, it shuts down the operation of the compressor and the evaporator fan in freezer compartment while the defrost heating element under the evaporator gets turned on to defrost the ice buildup in freezer. A defrost thermostat attached to the evaporator coil will turn off the defrost heating element if it gets too warm. Then when the defrost timer opens, the compressor and evaporator fan get turned back on for normal cooling cycles via the thermostat.. The defrost cycle lasts about a half an hour and repeats itself every 8 to 10 hours.

By the very nature of its operation you can see that in a self defrosting refrigerator, freezer temps are subject to a rather large fluctuation every time the self defroster goes on. Ergo, frozen food in such a unit will not keep for as long as in a commercial refrigerator or chest type freezer where such a circuit does not exist, temps are constantly low, and food lasts longer. And of couse, when the freezer temps go up as a result of the heater operation it follows that refrigerator temps will also go up since cold freezer air is no longer being funnel to fridge compartment. But since the refrig temps were never as low as those of the freezer, the temp variation during the defrost cycle will be considerably smaller.

If the self defrost mechanism is not working in accordance with the description above then maybe something is wrong with the control board if you have one on your unit.

sounds like a bad defrost timer
or depending on the model a bad
electronic or adaptive defrost board

its probably the automatic defrost cycle.there should be a drain in the bottom of your freezer,and it must be clogged.The automatic defrost keeps ice from building up in your freezer by melting it,and letting the water run out the drain.If the drain is blocked by something or clogged the water collects,and refreezes.You need to unblock the drain.

Turn the second knob at the top to off (freezer knob) turn the fridge freezer off. Then turn it back on. That may sort it. Or you may need to totally defrost the machine as there could be some ice blocking some vents. May need to remove the back panel of the freezer for this (inside).

theres a relay on the back at the bottom of the freezer you need to replace..its what helps the freezer run

there is a defrost fault - quite common with these hotpoint. fault could lie with the module or stats associated with defrost or possibly the heater itself. most probable is the module but impossible to localize by remote control. water drains away thro a hole in the centre of the tray underneath the evaporator

Did the RCD tripping have anything to do with the freezer? You could have a faulty defrost heater, which means the freezer will not defrost at all.
