This was a flat screen LCD

  • braffin May 02, 2008

I have already tried all the buttons, including the VGA button. The model TV is 23PF8946/37. What do you mean by 'input sources?'

  • braffin May 02, 2008

Okay. Unplugging and plugging back in brought back the picture. Now the issue I was dealing with when I lost the picture. I wanted to video tape off the set and the only channel that would accept the VCR was 3 in mono. But it wouldn't show the program, only pllay the video. What happened?

  • braffin May 02, 2008

Unplugging the TV and replugging it in brought back the picture. But I still have the original problem that the VCR will work only on channel 3 but, when I turn on the menu for the VCR, I get 'no signal available.'

Vga is usually for computer input. try pushing other buttons, input or source for example, because you can't hurt the tv if you just push buttons on the remote control, they are built that way. you might get something out of whack. if nothing else, unplug the tv for half a minute and plug it back in, it might reset itself. vga on older sets means something other than computer.

Find the button that relates to the input you want to view. IE "video" "composite" "s-video"
Or simply try any of the input buttons until the picture returns.
Also try simply hitting the VGA button again.
If none of that works, please let me know the model number of the tv and the input sources you are trying to view.

I Lost picture. Went to press mute button on remote and pressed last button instead. Now i can't get picture back.

If you hit the "last" button again, it should take you back to the channel you were on before you hit the button. when you lost the picture, was the screen blue? black? If you hit the "menu" button, does the menu come up?

Hi john,

Maybe you had pressed AVI/Video button. It is used to show DVDs or other players plugged into your TVs. You can look for a TV option in the remote and when u press on it,u might get back the TV Channels.

How to get laptop connected with vga connector to

Unplug the television. Connect the VGA compatible monitor cable from the laptop's VGA monitor Output to the VGA Input on the back panel of the television. You will need a splitter to connect the audio cable from your laptop to the VGA Audio Input on the television. Never mind if you have speakers connected to your computer.

Press the Device button on the remote control or on the television front panel to display the Device Selection Menu. Select the device you want to view, in this case VGA. The only compatible resolution is 640X480 at a sync rate of 60 Hz.

Do not leave stationary or letter-box images on-screen for extended period of time to avoid uneven picture tube aging.

My DVD player is hooked up to my RCA truflat but i cannot find the picture. I lost the original remote to my RCA truflat and am now using a RCA universal remote. How do I get picture on my tv?

There should be a button on the front of the TV that says TV/VIDEO or INPUT. Turn on the DVD player and put a DVD in it and press play. Press the TV/VIDEO button until the picture is present.

Good Luck....
