I dropped my Samsung Eternity into water, and the phone worked fine but there was a little water behind the screen. So I just set it out to dry and thought that the sun might dry the water inside and everything would be fine. But now the screen doesn't work. The backlight, sound, and vibration works just not the screen. Is there a way to fix this or do I have to get a new phone?

The first thing that you should have done is, removed the battery and brought the phone immediately for repairs. Electronics and water dont mix.
there are options, you can replace the lcd and have your phone professionally "dried" using techinician tools.
or there is your option of replacing the phone.
just see which cost less and more practical for you.
hope this helps.

Dropped my samsung eternity in water

You phone needs to be taken apart and dried out. You probably shorted the battery, it will need to be replaced. If it got really wet, boards start to corrode and phone may not be fixable. Every connection on phone needs to be taken apart and dried, hopefully your phone will work again. Sometimes I get them to work again, and sometimes I don't. Good Luck

Dropped phone, screen black

Replacing it is not too much trouble for an experienced cell phone technician. But, it's not for anyone who doesn't like to tinker with small things. Here's a video demonstrating the entire process: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJpHHs9QM5U.

My Samsung Eternity got wet - now the screen

Hi,

phone can be fixed.

The water that entered the phone has stayed in the phone for too long and it has affected the screen of the phone.

Even till now the water has not fully dried up in the phone and it might still get some other damages if not serviced to dry up the remaining water in it.

Unscrew the phone and use a methylated spirit and a brush to wash of the board of the phone.

After washing the board of the phone, put it under something to heat the board to dry faster and couple the phone back.

i will advice if you do not have the knowledge to fix up the phone, you can take it a mobile engineer to fix it for you in other to cause further damages to the phone.

Have a nice day.

Water damaged and it works but for some reason it keeps turning off, is there a way to fix water damage?

Hello my friend,if the board and chips are oxidized now there is nothing you can do anymore. You should immediately open your mobile unplug everything and try to dry everything with a hairdressers gun and leave the battery and the Sim card out for some hours when you drop it into the water.

Samsung Eternity has water caught between the screens

It is not possible that you can have water between front glass and lcd screen. Those 2 parts are glued together with LOCA glue. Maybe screen was repaired before and front glass was replaced and new one was reattached to phone is in mounting tape on sides instead LOCA glue?

My samsung eternity will not turn on. please help

First of all, DO NOT put the battery back in. Let it dry for AT LEAST 24 hours. Leaving it in a container full of moisture absorbing material (i.e. rice grains) should help in taking out the remaining water residue.
