My land rover 1997 radio isnt working it only says "code". The land rover dealer I called gave me a 5 digit code and every website ive went to it says its a 4 gigit code. Also it does a beep sound every 5 times you hit a button. And sometimes i get the word "code" to blink on the radio but thats pretty much the only thing i can do to it. Im really lost on the sequence on how to enter the code in the radio.

If you're looking for a radio code, all you have to do is call the service department at your local land rover dealer and give them the VIN. If it is a factory radio, it will require 4 digits. They should do this at NO charge. You can also call Land Rover corporate for this information too. If it is a navigation system, there is usually a sticker in the glove box and the last 5 digits of the serial number on that sticker are the radio code.
You have to go to the dealer. Give them you id and registration to show the car is your. Then they will give you the code. Do not let them charge you. Its free. I just went through the same thing
Press the station buttons if the code is 3 6 5, press 1 three times press 2 six times and so on when all the code is in press the next button this should bring on the radio.
if the owner manual is in the car, look through it for the 4 digit code. Otherwise, call your local Land Rover dealer and provide them with the VIN of your truck and they will provide you the code. If the code will not punch in, hold firmly the BND button until the display says code in.
Radio codes are only available from the Dealer, you need to goto the dealership with your registration, they will type in your Vehicle Identification Number in there system and give you a 4 or 5 digit code. If you have typed buttons on the radio (3 incorrect codes) the radio will go to a lock-out mode and you will have to leave the key on position 1 for 1 hour to reset the lockout mode.
Hope this helps.
