RCA F32648 I have a problem with my RCA F32648 TV. When I turn the unit on, it scrolls between the Guide Plus and the menu and won't allow me to change channels or control the volume. It worked fine until someone sat on the universal remote we had to control the TV. I NEED HELP!

I removed the batteries...that didn't work. Then I just replaced the entire universal remote. Unplugged the TV for about 3 hours to reset itself and it is still doing it. I have a repair man coming today, but for 150.00 for him to come out (because my set is big and very heavy I can't take it in), I wish I could fix it myself or find a solution online to help!

I've change the remote with a new one and unplugged the set from three hours to three days. After turning the set back on it works for about ten minutes before acting up again. The remote has the battries removed. Unable to turn the TV off or on using buttons in front panel of set. What can cause this problem? Service tech can not find whats causing this problem

Remove the batteries from the remote and see if that fixes the problem. If not please say so.

The problem is in the switch panel. Lay the TV down flat on the screen on some carpet. remove the screws around the back (unplug first) and remove the back. You will see the board that the switches are in down behind where they are on the front. You can unsnap the panel from its location easily and pull it out. Also release the clip that goes into the bigger control board carefully. It has a clip that you have to press to keep from breaking it. The take the switch panel and get some good electronic spray cleaner and spray it directly into the buttons, while pressing them repeatedly. This will clewan the switches. The problemm is caused by one or more of the switches making a connection when you are not pressing it, so the TV is freaking out and doesnt know what you want it to do. Clean all six switches well and replace the panel in the reverse order. Should work like a champ!

Went black and white rca f32648

so far no proper details are available regarding resetting this particular TV ( f32648 ) .... i have checked user manual also

have you tried following things

1 - playing different dvds (dvd player )
2 - changing different channels ( cable tv or antenna )
3 - increasing ( to maximum ) & decreasing ( to minimum ) [in menu ]
contrast colour tint black level sharpness
picture presets auto colur colour warmth
4 - auto channel searching ( cable tv or antenna )

even after these trials if picture is in black & white then it is a hardware problem - since it is a rare problem no details are available about which component might have got deffective ...... only the service engineer who opens & checks your tv can tell the exact deffective component .......... sometimes it can be loose connection ( cracks at soldering joints - hit your TV lightly with your hand on left side or right side or on top - if color comes & goes then it is loose connection problem - all soldering joints should be resoldered by service engineer ) ..... or an IC might have got deffective ......... only after opening & checking your tv mainboard exact deffective component can be identified ......

The remote will not control the tv, the guide plus screen will not go away we can not get it to get rid of it

A suggestion for your question. First make sure your TV is synchronized with your cable company account. Then go into the Guide Plus+ and go to settings. From there you can locate audio or remote settings to manage them there. Take time to look thru the Guide Plus+ menu, where you can find where you can turn on or off your Guide Plus+ screen, Its in there.

You should be able to unplug the TV and let it sit for a few minutes and when you plug it back up and it wants to go through the setup cancel out of it.

Remote doesn't work rca model #F32648,i can't access the input function. The onscreen menu doesn't show it or I cannot find it. Problem is without it I can not use the DVD player.

This isn't a solution but I am unable to acccess the input either. My tv is hooked to a dvd,vcr and direct tv satellite with a dvr. I watched a movie on the dvd and the tv won;t allow me to switch the input back to satellite tv.

OLDER MODEL RCA HOME THEATER PICTURE AND PICTURE

Hi Unykue,

I am an electronics technician who just happened have been given the same set as you because it was giving the previous owner the same problem. Since I am confident in my trade, I took the set and diagnosed noise in the remote receivers input to the cpu.

What this means is that a capacitor( or something) wasn't working properly and was either not filtering the noise out or it was introducing noise into the data stream that controls the TV through your remote control.

My fix was to essentially cut out the entire remote control input to the TV. Since I have a directtv box to give me remote control, I don't care if the TV's remote works anyway.

The way I did this was to open up the unit and find the front I/O board were the buttons meet the switches for power, chaennel, volume, etc. On that board there is a plug with white wires and one black wire. The two wires to cut are the one next to the black wire and the one all the way at the other end of the black wire. These two wires are easy to splice back if you do not like the results of this procedure so that there is really no risk of damaging your set. If you wish to verify the proper wires to cut, they are the two wires that come from the IR receiver's side of the board YET DO NOT GO TO THE OTHER SIDE WITH THE BUTTONS! There is one wire that does indeed go to both sides.

This may not be a perfect solution but it is free. I hope that this will help someone out there.

we are in the same boat. I think you need a new circuit board that holds the buttons for power, channel, volume, etc(mounted on the front of the TV.) I have not been able to find one yet.
