Yes. It fills and drains. Doesnt tumble nor spin at all. I'm going in the direction of replacing the motor. I'm checking pump, and pulleys. But I think I need a new motor. Thank you responding to my post. I appeciate it greatly.

I am having the same problem with my washer. Sears diagnosed the washer and say I need the motor replaced. I would like to verify the motor is bad before ordering a new one. 10 pins on connector make it difficult to check resistance. Where can I find what the resistance should be between suspect pins.

Does the tub spin at all? When you say it does everything, are you implying that it fills and drains, but the tub does not tumble or spin? I just need some clarification.

You may be right, but before you rule completely on the motor, have you checked the Spin Control (sometimes referred to as a Motor Control Unit)? My experience with this unit usually has the Spoin Control board going bad more frequently. There should be a tech sheet located inside the washer behind the front panel under the door somewhere. The tech sheet should include all steps necessary in determing how to rule whether the motor windings are good, or the whether Spin Control board has failed. If you decide to replace the parts yourself, you can find them at and Repairclinic has better pricing, but Sears has better diagrams used in parts identification and troubleshooting. The parts you may need are as follows:

Item 1206430 Spin Control
Item 823073 Motor-sole

Item 4 (p/n #134149220) Speed Control (Under "PANELS/HOSES" heading)
Item 19 (p/n # 131770600) Motor-sole (Under DRUM/MOTOR" heading)

Of can do your own comparitive pricing if you don't wish to shop online. Just use the Sears part numbers as a reference.

I hope this helps. Post back and let me know if you need further assistance.

Washer wont spin ...motor runs but drum doesnt

If this is a Duet front loader, you need to check to see if the drive belt may have broken, or slipped off the drive pulley behind the wash tub.

To access and replace/reinstall the belt, the following link explains:

If you have any questions, or if the model washer you have is different, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

The washer drum wont spin.

If your washer does not drain you need to check this parts.
  1. Inspect the drain hose for kinks
  2. Test the timer control
  3. Test the lid switch(some models)
  4. Inspect the water pump
  5. Inspect the drive belt(belt drive only)
  6. Inspect the motor coupler

Washer will not do a spin cycle for rinse or end of cycle

you can check two things,. One is, is the belt broken or stretched, the other is the motor, is the motor turning if the motor is turning then replace the belt. If the motor is not turning replace the motor.
