My 95 corolla will not start. When I put the charger on the battery it says the battery is fully chared. When I put the charger on quick start the starter clicks and grinds but doesn't pull in to turn the engine. could my battery still be bad? Or is it the starter?

OK, if the battery has 12.5 volts or so, the charger will say it's fully charged. But, the real test is to load test it and check for CCA which should be like 550 CCA and above for most cars.

You could purchase a new battery from Walmart, an auto parts store, or Sears, and before you purchase it, have them test the old one to see if it is bad or good.

Once, you have a known good battery, then you can try it in the car. If it just clicks and grinds but doesn't turn the engine over, then you know you have a bad starter in the car, which will have to be changed.

How do I set the settings on my NAPA automatic starter/charger to charge my battery in the car or to try to use it to quick start the car battery? Both ways to set the starter/charger would be helpfu

Put it on medium or the quick charge. If it has a start or boost on it put it on that and try to start the car. Do not leave it on a high rate (start or boost)for long periods or the battery could explode.

Any does my 95 Corolla always need a quick boost to start

Alternator or battery may be the issue. If you have an AutoZone or other parts store they may test either for free.

TAZZ SOMETIMES DOES NOT WANT START

Sounds like you need to get your battery fully charged on a battery charger and then tested at a garage. Driving will put some charge in your battery but not fully charge it. After your battery has been flat it is less likely to fully recharge and the alternator is designed to keep the battery topped up rather than fully charge it. Jon

if the charger is rated at 10 amps or more yes,it received a 'quick charge' enough to render it serviceable.the charger should be 'overcharge protected' so you could give the battery another 'zap' just prior to installation.

Mazda RX8 starting problem

Check that your battery is fully charged. If it does not sustain a charge , replace it. Clean the cables and battery posts with baking soda and water mixture. About 1/4 cup to a pint. If it still does not turn with a fully chared battery, it is probably the starter that is bad. It will have to be replaced. One click usually means the starter is bad. Several clicks usually means the battery is bad.
