Hi,

Check out the batteries first. It can also be possible that it might not have been charged properly.Or it may have spoilt.Well the only solution will be to buy a new one or get it repaired or replaced if it is under warranty.

Goodluck,

I have an iBook G4 an the trackpad stopped working. I can't go to system preferences because it won't work. Please help me.

Borrow or buy a basic USB mouse. They are quite cheap.
I've had this problem before. I simply went to the local library, unplugged their USB mouse, plugged it into my machine for a few minutes, and fixed the problem.

It sounds like your internal trackpad isn't working, and it is currently asking you to hook up a mouse, be it thru Bluetooth or USB - have you tried a USB mouse on it to see what happens?

CANNOT CONNET MY IBOOK TO THE INTERNET

How are you trying to connect?  Wireless or via wired connection?  There's a control panel called NETWORK on in the systems preferences.  If you go into that control panel it will show you the options that are available and what their status is.  For example, I'm using the wireless on MacBook Pro and it shows a GREEN light next to the wireless connection.  If you let us know how you are trying to connect to the internet, it'll help us solve your problem.
