Question about Microsoft Office XP Professional Special Edition (F95-00007) for PC
I recently uninstalled the trial version of office 2007 and when i turn the computer on, it loads to a dialogue box that constantly asks me for the original office xp prof. w/frontpage cd, that I don't have, because I am missing the proplus.msi file. I am unable to get to my desktop, as it is a constant blue color, yet i am able to search for files and folders, but only to look for the proplus.msi installation file.
If u had office installed it should be in your C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office folder.
also check this.
One user succeeded by renaming mso2002.dll to proplus.msi http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=4bafe39c4910c1204225d07010b53bea&showtopic=9804&st=10&#entry81250
Let me know what happens.

If you need to purchase the 2007 version and just enter the registration key on the CD case, you will not have to do anything with the CD itself.
Ask HP "If I buy this computer does Office 2007 come with a trial version, or full version?" Then you have a salesman's word on the subject. If he says it does not, then you can ask for confirmation with a supervisor. However if it actually is supposed to be the full version then you have a valid complaint.
I believe you CAN use your old Office 2002 (call MS and or HP to confirm) but you will have to uninstall the 2007 version first.
