Question about Car Audio & Video
Toyota Custom Radio Cassette
Alpine # 7190ETC-2a
Toyota # 86120-00028
Ok, it's an old unit, but it was given to me and I was hoping a easy swap for an even older vintage Kenwood unit that died. I threw it on the bench to check it and stuck volts on, entered the security code, and that's about as far as things go. None of the push buttons seem to do anything - tune up down etc. The code appears to work as the display turns on, so at least the buttons work initially. What am I missing?
Oh, and I am competent in terms of part replacement etc if it comes to that, but it might not be worth it…
Any one of the switches could bad or any number of the switchescould be bad -----the switches i'm talking about are in back of the face plate----- this is one of the most common repairs that i have done on that model- if you want to replace the bad switch/switches they cost about $11.00 each- if you want to get them i have them in stock email@example.com ----if you take the face off the radio check to see if the switches have any spring to them( they probably won't ) the ones that do are good the rest are bad
