You need to reinstall the Graphic Drivers. If you have Installed any antiVirus in recent days, try uninstalling it and reinstalling it back again. it seems as if the problem is with the graphic card and need to be replaced

Try to copy the dvd-es on the hard disk before playing ...and this way you will see if it is a reading issue or just the application software you use is not capable to read them anymore..(it may have been an trial or it is out of date ) ..
My advice is to install a another program ..and try again ..if the dvd-ea are not read well from the hdd..
try VLC player (it free) ..or ..another dvd player on the net ...

Have no sound on a dell d800. "No audio device

Yes you have speakers. Either your audio circuit is defective or your software drivers are corrupted. Try holding down the key next to the key while powering on the laptop. This should invoke a diagnostic program which will test you audio circuit. You can also boot from your Resource CD and initiate diagnostics to test the audio. If you hear audio from the laptop using these diags then you have a problem with the drivers or software, not hardware.

Dvd drive says i need a decoder

Well if your trying to play a DVD and the pc codecs are not present you will get this error. there are several free DVD codec players on the net. All you need is a program that emulates or has the licence to play the DVD. Here is 1 I found in like 10 seconds. I have not tested this nor ever used it but there are hundreds of them floating around the net.

Dell Latitude D800-Win XP- My Dvd/rw wont write

Because you lost two devices, the DVD and the wireless mini card, I believe your problem is a drivers issue.
You should make sure you do not have any Malware that is removing these drivers.
If you have access to the Internet download and install Malwarebytes. It has a quick scan that will ID any infections.
Then get the newest drivers for those two devices from Dell's support site.
Before you install the drivers, remove those devices in Control Panel.
