Well, unfortunately, this a secret kept from others by Canon. They dont even have it on their service manual. But do call the number I posted. Canon support are very friendly and will walk you through the steps.

you can call them at 1-800-828-4040

And a sincere request, please change the fixya rating that you gave to the other bloke who did nothing but do some time wasting measures to keep his solution as #1. I would appreciate it if you assigned that to someone who really gave you some lead to go on.

PS, why did you rate this inappropriate? That negative rating is only reserved for posts that are totally irrelevant to your question. I was trying to assist you here, and gave a number you can call to get the code.
At least dont rate it at all if you are unsatisfied with my response.
I was just trying to help you with the only recourse available. I would greatly appreciate it if you undid the "inappropriate' rating and dont rate me at all. This is after all a direct request that you made..

Ok, latest info..Apparently you can try to reset by pressing switch 301. On the left hand side of the copier there is a small 2" x 3" door lower
rear with one screw. Inside is the side view of a PCB where the switch
    is, and various other adjustments.

Now I am not too sure exactly where that switch is, but if you take a look, you should be able to find it.

    Start with the printer OFF

    1. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
    2. release RESUME (while still holding down the POWER)
    3. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
The green light will blink and the printer will make some noise. Wait
until this is finished, you are now in the printer's diagnostic mode.

To select one of the functions below, use the RESUME button and then press POWER to execute:

    # of RESUME Presses - Light Color - Function

    0 - green - Power Off
1 - orange - Service Test Print: Extended nozzle check pattern
    2 - green - EEPROM information print
    3 - orange - EEPROM initialize
4 - green - reset waste ink counter (For the Canon waste tank full error)

How do you get into service mode on canon MF6560 (image class) ? Thanks RD

Press “Additional Functions”, “2", “8", “Additional Functions” in succesion.
Display will show “#SSSW”.
Press “+” or “-“ key repeatedly to go through the following menu list:
Don't make adjustments in these modes unless you know what you are doing; could mess things up. Counter mode is especially helpful though for observing the performance (totals, mode, feed, and jam counts).
