Go to Start, Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices and place a check mark in the box that says Place volume icon in the taskbar.
It will be in the lower right hand corner of your desktop by the time.

Desktop E-Machine ET1161-07. Problem I have grey rectangle in the middle of the screen . It has a volume Icon with a range of volume from 0 to 100. It is showing at 100 (or full volume). I want that...

hold down alt+f4 and select the icon for the program that is giving the volume icon, make a note of the name of the offending program, then press alt+f4 to close the program. Simply go to add/remove programs and remove the program if you want to, or look in its options to disable the volume display.

No sound on my computer

If you are using windows then double click on speaker icon in system tray near TIME display.. it will open a window, now see if there is a check box marked as MUTE or volume level set to low (in Master Volume & Wave ).. Un-check if mute is selected or level up the volume slider... if there is no icon then use control panel to go for sound settings.. if it say No Device then use your computer driver CD and install sound driver and restart your PC... please inform if it does work.

Plese Rate Me.. Thanks.
