Kenwood KRF-V7050 remote control problem

Hi all, I have a weird situation on my Kenwood A/V receiver. It seems that when my receiver is turned off for a while, the remote can't operate it (it's in stand-by mode), but if I manually turn on the receiver, then after a while (10-15 min.) the receiver seems to respond to the remote. I've already checked that the remote is outputing infra signal from it's led, and it does. I've even tried a universal remote control with no help. Ideas anyone? I turn on my receiver with my remote (RCR0720) and within a few minutes, my receiver won't respond to my remote when I want to change the volume. Sometimes my receiver will be ok for an hour or 2, but at some point, it won't respond to my remote controller. I have made sure nothing is blocking the air vents of the receiver and I have changed batteries in the reomote; this hasn't changed anything. When I first bought this surround system this was not a problem until after a couple of years. What to do?

Depending on the receiver type, there may be a computer type battery on the circuit board for the receiver's uPC. In some models, they use a gold leaf capacitor that is in the range of about 0.5 Farads or so. This is to store the active memory for the receiver. If the battery or the cap is defective and the temporary memory is lost, then the uPC must re-initialize and
restore the system's temporary memory before it can function again.
If the battery, or the cap (depending on the receiver) is in good condition, then your fault is most likely a component that has become temperature sensitive. After the set has warmed up, the associated function starts to operate again.

There might also be some bad solder contacts at the IR receiver on the front panel.

HI,

There are two possible reasons.1) It is the senser on the receiver which can be faulty.2)Or the remote circuit is faulty.
If the IR receiver is defective you will have to get it repaired.

Goodluck,

Here in the UK there is a company CPCfarnell that has a remote finder service.

The company is large and supplies manufacturers, trade and diy markets.

I expect there are similar companies all over the planet.

If you have a Kenwood receiver and a Kenwood remote, does it have a receiver button (RCVR)? If so you should not need to do any programming

Volume changes when other buttons are pressed. Randomly the remote drastically changes the volume on the receiver when you press another button.

Hi. Were you able to get this remote working ? I suggest you try a firmware update, since you didnt mention that you had tried that. I find that usually solves weird problems like this one. You can do that by going through the following steps:

1. Connect your remote to the computer.

2. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in.

3. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware"

4. The remote will go through the firmware update.

5. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote

Hope that helps :)

Want to use just one remote!

This really is a question that Kenwood would have to answer and their phone number is 1-800-536-9663. Some remotes will communicate with the dish receiver but there are far to many manufacturers for me to be able to tell you who they are and their codes. It is much better if you go directly to the source yourself.
Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can further assist you.

Dish Network VIP612 DVR - unwanted "Info" screen

The problem has nothing to do with the television. To fix it, simply change the remote address. The directions for this are in the Dish manual, or you can check it out on the website here: http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/TechPortal/content/tech/receiver/622.shtml

Hope this helps.
