Unplug the linksys, then hold down the little reset button for 60 seconds. Plug it back in, connect up, and go to http://192.168.1.1 and log in w/no username and password: admin

Edit your settings, good to go.

Im having trouble hooking up my wireless connection.

1. Open a web browser on the computer.

2. In the address bar of the web browser, type http://192.168.2.1.

3. Click Login in the upper right-hand corner of the page. The router does not ship with a password, so just click Submit.

4. Click on "Connection Type" under Internet WAN

5. Choose the appropriate connection as provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and press "Next"

6. You will need to enter the settings as provided by your ISP. If you have options such as Encapsulation and MTU, then these should be set to VCMUX and 1454.

7. Once all of the appropriate settings have been entered, you may click on "Apply Changes". Your Modem Router will now save this data and attempt to connect to the Internet.
Your Modem Router should now show you that the "Internet Status" is "Connected" in the top right-hand corner of the interface. On some Modem Routers you may need to select the "Connect" button found on the "Home" page.

We moved and when everything was hooked up i cant get a connection from my linksys wireless router to my laptop

Ok - hook the power to the Linksys - then RESET - the folded out paper clip will work. Once RESET - hook it up to your ISP provided MODEM [ You must have this service to get on the web] now unplug the Modem provided by your ISP or provider - and unplug the router.
WAIT
15 seconds - then
hook up the MODEM from the provider - then hook up the router - then restart the laptop - if wired it will need to be plugged in - if wireless - run your 'search for a wireless signal and you should have it.

Thanks

Cant connect to internet

Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

I have a dir 300 router that when i try to hook it up it i cant

Let me clarify this  your internet works when your PC is hooked up directly to the modem....
When you connect the router between the pc and the modem the internet does not work....
This sounds like the configuration settings inside the router need to be setup or adjusted.
Go to the web browser and type in 192.168.0.1 and for the username type admin and then leave the password blank hit enter and it should sign you into the router. Follow the setup wizard and everything should work just fine.
Hope it Helps!

DI 624- Cant connect from router to computer

Hi mark - please don't rate this til it's fixed. Hook it up the way you had it. i.e. modem>router>pc. Try it, probably won't work. Unplug the power on your modem and the router. After 60 seconds plug in your modem. When all the lights return to normal (except the activity light), plug in your router. Give it 20 seconds or so. Try it and let me know what happens. Thanks.

Belkin Router: F5D7230-4 V2000 not getting correct IP Address

Although I am generally knowledgeable in networking, your issue I think still lies with your Router settings. I will however offer you a site to visit that may help you to set up your router no matter what type of service your ISP is.
http://belkin.httpsvc.vitalstreamcdn.com/belkin_vitalstream_com/support/dl/f5d7231-4.pdf

It sounds as if the computer that is wired to the router should have an ip address assigned by router somewhere in the range of 192.168.2.2 through 192.168.2.149. The router that you speak of might have the ability to be used as a "bridge" thus throwing off some of the settings. It seems as though you have the ability to have the router set up its own WAN IP. Which is for the wireless aspect of the router. Even with that though the default gateway should still be the address that you type in the browser to access your router's settings. The Belkin web site did offer a firmware update for your particular model as well and I will include that site too.
