Just remove the cmos battery by unplugging the powercord then wait for some time and resit the battery and boot, the now the password should be removed.

Power on password - if you mean the hdd password, buy a new hard drive unless you know the password. Administrator password can be got around with some expensive software. See utube and search google etc for suppliers.

Toshiba satellite Pro m10 power on password

If you power it on and get a "password=_" prompt, then it has a CMOS password set. The only known way around it is to buy or make your own parallel port key (aka parallel port password removal key - schematics are available free on the Internet) - which will clear the CMOS and set it back to its default state with no passwords.

I need to get into the BIOS and it's asking for the current password. How can I get around needing a password?

There are a couple of ways to get around this. You will need to remove the side panel from your PC and have a look at the system board. On the board you will see a small disc shaped battery and you should also see a small jumper near by. You can clear the password by either remove the battery for 60 seconds (guaranteed to work if it's just a BIOS password) or by moving the little jumper one pin over and pressing the power button. After this you can replace the battery or move the jumper back to it's original position and you should be free to enter the BIOS.

Compaq NC6320 laptop pc with "stringent" security power on password set. How do I get around this? RTC does not control this password.

remove the laptop battery and the plug to your bios (small) battery on the motherboard wait about ten minutes then plug the bios battery back in power the computer back up using the power supply not the battery then: shutdown and, reboot again after you have reinserted your laptop (large) battery; you should have all passwords removed.

Re: power on + bios password

IBM uses a security chip on the motherboard that burns the password into it when a bios password is enabled. The only solution to getting around a bios password on an IBM is to replace the bios security chip or the motherboard. I've wrestled with this before, and believe me when I say it's a whole lot easier to replace the board. Do your best to remember!!!!!!!!
