What type computer? Wireless network ? FROM the language you are using [" picks up connection"] It is wireless. You may be picking up "outside" signals. When they are weak, you may get something!,then u loose it. Thats why "pending & nothing happens"

I have an ASUS F5RL-X3 I can not access the recovery console using F9, nor can I repair it using OEM WIN XP Pro disk. I have changed boot priority so that CD is first device however it goes to HDD. I just want to get it started in recovery or DOS so tat I can manually fix registry and run chkdsk /p/r. F9 does not work!

I have an asus eepc and a few months back I installed Windowz xp in it. However, I cannot connect to the internet. How can I fix this problem?
and it seems to be a common complain. I found at least ten posts asking the same question here and I only looked at five pages.

same problem with Eeepc. both for wireless and land line. it just stays on 'pending'. ( when you open the details, in the log it says, no DHCPOFFERS received. No working leases in persistent database - sleeping. runparts -- verbose/etc/network/ )
