Make sure you have the switch turned on. Also make sure the bulb is screwed in all the way. Sometimes it can seem to be all the way in but needs another turn or so. If it still dosent work you may have a defective bulb.

Water and Ice dispenser quit functioning

the solution to this problem is so simple it makes me laaugh out loud. the bulb in the door that illuminates when a glass is placed under the water dispenser draws too much current when it gets old. just remove the bulb and it will work fine. you can then replace the bulb whenever you find it at a hardware store. I had the same problem, and spent hours online looking and was ready to buy a new motherboard to fix it. I have alot of faith in GE, and all of the bashing is a horse ****. GE makes turbine engines that power alot of the airplanes we fly in and i think they know a thing or two about engineering.

Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working

INSIDE THE DISPENSER ASSEMBLY IS A SEPARATE ELECTRONIC BOARD THAT CONTROLS THE DISPENSER.
OCCASIONALLY, THE DOOR SOLENOID OR THE CUBE ICE SOLENOID WILL SHORT OUT CAUSING A BURNOUT OF THE DISPENSER CONTROL BOARD. CHECK FOR A BURNT SMELL COMING FROM THE DISPENSER HOUSING. IF YOU SMELL IT, THE BOARD AND/OR SOLENOID NEED TO BE REPLACED.

Ice & water dispenser not working

The control board is likely gone bad or a wire harness inside the front came loose. With all those indications, I'd lean toward a dead board.
