Studder Ring

I have a fax on the same line as my phone. The phone has a voice mail which picks up after 4 rings. My phone Co. has given us a separate number which rings a double ring. Now when some calls the fax picks up. Or when someone calls they do not get a chasnce to leave a voice mail message.

How do I get the fax to pick up on the double ring only?

I am thinking that you have a ring that the machine does not recognize. If you look at your manual on page A-2, it shows what rings the machine can recognize. If it is not one of those rings, then you would need to ask the phone company to alter the 'custom' ring.

If it is an acceptable custom ring, page A-2 also shows you how to set the machine to pick up on that specific ring.
