If you've lost the security code and you notice some software problems, I would recommend you to get it flashed (installing new operating system) from a Service Center or from a Nokia Mobile Repairing shop. If there's software problem, resetting the phone will not help. You can flash it for yourself, but no one will recommend since buying the software and hardware will cost you more than the price of buying a new handset.
You should also that once the handset is flashed, everything saved on the phone will be lost and will never be retrievable.
If you want to try it yourself without the dedicated hardware and software, you can use Nokia Updater. Open this link (click here), [open the link and click the green "download" button to download the updater, nowhere else and nothing else] and download the updater application, follow the instructions on the page. Be careful with this, if this fails or the process is interrupted you'll end up with a dead set. You'll need your usb cable (if nokia pc suite is installed on your system, please uninstall it before you install this updater). Connect the phone using the usb cable to the computer and select "Nokia Mode". Run the program and follow the instructions. If you need further help, let me know.
[Note: If the process is successful, your phone will be unlocked and will be updated.]
Good luck.

Once flashed, the handset will become as it was when you purchased it. There'll be no code (except the default code 12345 which is not enabled) and all the settings will be restored to it's default value. But if your handset is still under warranty, the best thing is to get it flashed or get a replacement from them. In fact, Nokia gives a replacement if a handset has a faulty while the item is under warranty. Or they should flash it or unlock it for free, if you still have the Purchase receipt or warranty card, you can claim the warranty anywhere. (Most nokia dealers give international warranty and the warranty for almost all nokia handsets is 1 Year.). As long as you have the receipt or the warranty card, you have the rights to claim it warranty.
(Note: The default code for all Nokia Mobile is 12345. I assume you've changed to another for yourself.)
I wish you good luck, if you need further help, please let me know and please post your comment below my Comment by clicking "Add a comment"

I have lost my security code. When I changed my number and Telephone Company, my phone was empty. I made a security backup and got some updates, and now my phone has a lot of software mistakes, but I cannot reset it because of the looked security code. I hope you can help me back on the right track!
(Nokia 6303 Classic) Ordrenummer: 4305128515217430, IMEI-nummer : 358005037772149, ICC-nummer: 401090810421310, TYPE-NR: RM443
Tank you for the advice! I tried to use Nokia Updater my selves, but it would not allow me to make any updates at all. I was told, I already got the latest software, and it never become possible to activate the “reinstall” bottom.
I do not know for sure, if it is software problems, or if can fixed if, if I could reset the phone. I will need the security code anyway, and when the phone only is one month old, I think it is the phone shop/company that must help me, but the customer service has been closed, since I bought the phone.
What possibilities have I got, - only to find a Nokia service center, and pay for the flashing my selves? Will flashing reset the security code, or will I still have that problem? Thank you in advance! Fantasia123
