You can find the remote control codes for difrent brands of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-vcr.shtml#dvd

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.

  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

2. Learn the buttons from the original

Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing the following steps.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice.
  2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice.
  3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. The next 3 steps must be completed within 10 seconds.
  4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash radidly.
  5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.

Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keys or press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock in your new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat steps through 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the new feature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned

I HAVE NO REMOTE..VOLUMN KEYS WILL NOT WORK..I HAVE REBOOTED BY I CAN'T DO ANYTHING..CAN I GET A UNIVERSAL REMOTE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

Yes, RCAs have very common remote control codes. In fact, Discount-Merchant.com has remote controls for most RCA models. You can just call them and ask, or you can buy a universal remote from any electronics store. The remote codes are pretty easy to find too, and if you buy a universal remote, it comes with a cheat sheet with codes on it.

I need a remote code for a rca remote for the olevia remote control can you help

Unfortunately Olevia is one of those t.v. brands that is not compatible with many universal remote controls. They make a Universal Learning Remote specifically available from Olevia on their web site that may solve your problem if your universal remote control turns out not to be compatible with your Olevia television.

As for what codes you can try, there are many, and the codes depend on your universal remote control brand. Many times, an RCA code will work for Olevia televisions, so you should try the RCA codes that come with your universal remote first, before trying any of these other codes.

If you have a Dish Network Universal Remote you can use code 506 or 127.

Direct TV remote codes vary by model number on the remote control, but the following codes work with most Direct TV remotes: 506, 127, 11144, 11240, 11331, 11610

Cable Vision use code 506

Charter and Movie Box remotes you can use 1144 or 1178

Comcast codes are 11144, 11240, 11331, 21075, 10159, 10154, and 10088

Cox code is 1610

Brighthouse remote codes are 1610, 1144, 1240, and 1331

Time Warner remote codes are 1610, 1144, 1240, 1331, 432, and 1610

If none of these brands are what you are looking for as far as your Universal Remote Control is concerned, many universal remote controls will work with Olevia televisions if you use the codes found under the RCA, LG, Phillips, and Yamaha in the code listing included with your remote control.

I was playing with the menu on the tv. and i was being curious and i had ended up locking the front buttons. and we dont have the remote control to the tv no more.

RCA makes several universal remotes that are sold by a variety of stores, Target, Walmart, etc. These come with the RCA code already programmed in them. Look for one that has a "menu" function button. You should be able to access the code necessary to unlock the panel buttons.

I can't find a code on a rca universal remote control. the brand is magnavox. it has dvd and vcr all in one

I own a One-for-All universal remote and my booklet says the setup code for a Magnavox TV/DVD/VCR combo is 0821. I do not for sure if this number will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.

I have a rca r401a1 universal remote i am trying to get to control a APEX television set, no longer have universal codes

I have an RCA conversion guide but do not find an APEX or Insignia TV conversion code listed. It does, however, list a HELP LINE of 1-800-269-9143 for additional set up assistance. If you have already replaced the remote with another, I am looking for an RCA R404A1 remote as I've lost the one to my RCA tv so I might be in the market. jas64075@hotmail.com

Just bought a remote, instructions guided me here. looking for code for: rca colortrax2000 model:F27100AK serial:849530652

Not all the universal remotes are compatible with all the sets out there. Look on the list and see if there are any RCA sets to begin with. Try them all to see if there is one that will work.

If you cannot make the remote work, bring it back.

When shopping for a universal remote, always make sure that your model of TV set is on the compatiblity list of the new remote.

I would think that an RCA universal remote should work with RCA products. This may be a good start.

Just remember that universal remotes are not fully compatible to all the functions. They will usualy only work with the main functions of the TV set or intended device. There are too many limitations in the software and design when considering all the millions of code combinations that are out there!
