ECS A770M-A randomly resetting BIOS

I have this setup:
ECS A770M-A
PhenX4 9500
1x 2GB Kingmax
4x HDD Maxtor 320GB Raid
Windows server 2003

After a few boots the mainboards resets the BIOS on its own and I have to get into BIOS to set boot from Raid every time. Any clue why please?

I failed to point out tyhat we did that and we found the battery to be OK, also since this is completely new hardware. We also tried another VGA. We do not suspect RAM/HDDs to be faulty since they passed a full Windows 2003 Server installation without any hiccups.

You should pull the cmos/bios battery & check for 3 volts. If it reads slighty under 3v replace the battery.

Gateway T5048 BIOS won't acknowledge ATA HD and no way to manually setup

Or you can buy a cheap 10 dollar ATA controller card to install.
But usely when the on-board controller starts to fail, other functions will also start to fail. If the ATA HDD can't be seen, a replacement board could help. If the drives are SATA, then get the raid drivers and install the drivers when windows asks if you have any software to install before windows continues - This would be for older main boards that didn't have SATA drivers installed in the BIOS.

Hope any of this helps - Have a great night.

A well meaning~idiot teenager changed my set up on my Dell Dimension in BIOS to Intell ARRAY.. now I cannot bring Windows up

If the well meaning teenager took a non-raid configuration and created a RAID array, then any data on the drives was destroyed.

If you reply with the RAID array and HDD status information from the boot screen (THE intel Raid Controller will report the status of the array, degraded, normal or Failed and the status of each HDD member or non-member disk.) With that information I MAY be able to assist in getting the system to boot

After windows sp2 update

0141 error is no hard drive detected. So boot to the BIOS F2 at boot and ensure that the BIOS is seeing the hard disk drive. If it is not, then reseat the drive/drive cable connections and try again. If the drive is detected in bios, then try booting to WIndows, if HDD never is detected, reset bios defaults and reboot, and see if it detects, if still not detected, replace the hard disk drive

Problem installing windows

you dont need SATA controller drivers..that F6 function is only if you are going to use a RAID setup. That is where you hook up multiple SATA drives in series..So don't hit f6 and just install

Bios problem

first of all enter into the BIOS SETUP and than check there wheather it detect the SATA HDD OR NOT. IF not than there is option in bios to detect the sata hdd please set it properly to detect sata hdd. it might be set to RAID or something else. and this will definitely solve your problem and you will be able to detect the sata HDD.

dont think you need a driver unless you are installing it in a raid ...the purpose of sata was to elliminate hdd jumpers and configuration ... just go into the bios and make sure the sata channels are enabled
