I have a Lexmark series 1400 that will not turn on, the power button is blinking and will not come to full power. When it was working it would only print 1/3 of the page to be printed.

Hello bsolway,

Try a reset of the printer. Unplug the printer from the mains and the computer. Wait about 10-20mins and replug. This is a hard reset and should bring the printer back to manufacture standards.

Should that not work, try reinstalling the software. Uninstall the older software and reinstall from your install CD. Make sure the printer is not plugged into PC before installation. Plug it in only when instructed to do so in the installer.

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
If it hasn’t, please do not assign a rating just yet. Please post back as to what steps you took, results, etc, and I will try to assist you further as best I can. I am here at your service.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

Cheers!

Have you unplugged it from your computer and the wall for more than 5 minutes? If not try that first. There may be something wrong with the printers boot sequence and sometimes all it needs is a fresh start. Try starting it while it is unplugged, I know it won't show you it's doing anything, but it should drain any residual power.

How do i get my printer to work and stop the wifi button from flashing red? my internet is connected but the printer is not

Blinking WiFi light indicates that the printer is either trying to connect to a wireless network or not at all. Unplug the printer from the power outlet. Replug after 10 seconds. This will give enough time for the printer to reset. If WiFi light continues to blink, you may need to reset the printer's wireless network adapter. Please refer to this article: How to Reset the Z1400 and Z1500 Series Network Settings. The WiFi light will then turn off momentarily, then lights up solid orange. Launch the Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility to reconnect printer to your wireless network.

Cannot get Lexmark 1400 Series printer installed on my Dell laptop it is overridden by Microsoft printer.

Hello,

in that case, you will have to uninstall Microsoft printer so that it won't override your Lexmark 1400 Series printer.

Click start > Control panel > Add/remove program (Win xp) or programs and features (Vista). Uninstall Microsoft printer from there.

If that doesn't solve the problem, please let me know so that I may direct you further.

Good luck.

Lexmark 1400 series

It insists there is a hardware problem on the Printer............ In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer...... Blinking Stopped...........Issue Resolved....... Still Blinking: Remove both the Cartridges take a Paper Towel turn the catridges direction so that u can see a Copper plate with small boxes on it....... Just wipe it twice or thrice with the Paper Towel.......... Now insert it and Power on the Printer and see whether the Lights are still blinking if it is still blinking...... Contact Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK Good Luck.........
