You can try entering four zeros or four 9's. These are standard pins. Few others use 1,2,3 & 4.

Give it a try Andrew.
Luck!

Jabra How To Connect to my PC

Hello

Are you prompted to enter a Bluetooth pairing code? The pairing code for the Jabra Solemate is 0000.

Try disabling the Bluetooth on the Windows 8.1 device and then re-enable it and then try the pairing again.

Usb dongle is not working

Step 1:
A Bluetooth dongle is an external Bluetooth device used to enable your PC's Bluetooth connection. Many Bluetooth dongles come without installation disks since the software is pre-programmed into the actual USB stick. These Bluetooth dongles are very useful on netbooks that don't have Bluetooth connection, since netbooks have no CD-Rom drives. Turn on your PC. Insert the USB Bluetooth dongle into the USB port on your desktop tower, or the USB ports located on the perimeter of your laptop. Wait for the program to auto run. Once you connect your dongle, the driver program should launch. Follow the onscreen prompts to install the dongle. A dialogue box should open that says "Installing Drivers" from the taskbar. Allow the driver to install completely before closing the box. Unplug the dongle and restart your PC. Once the PC has been switched on, insert the dongle. Double-click "My Bluetooth Places." This is the Bluetooth icon located in your taskbar, and it should launch the "Initial Bluetooth Configuration Wizard." Click "Next" on the first screen. Next, type in the name of your computer and select your computer type from the drop-down menu, then click "Next." Click "Skip" on the onscreen prompts, then finish. Pairing the Devices Turn on your external Bluetooth device. Double-click "My Bluetooth Places." Select "Find Bluetooth Devices." The name your Bluetooth device should display in the next window. Right click the icon for your Bluetooth device, and scroll down to "Pair Device." Enter the Bluetooth pin code for your external device in the "Bluetooth Pin Code Request" pop-up window. Then click "OK." The default pin code is normally "0000" or "12345." You can find your pin code in your user manual. If you are pairing a cell phone to your PC, you will have to enter the same pin code on your cell phone to establish the Bluetooth connection.

I cannot get my keyboard or my mouse to work with my dell computer. what can i do?

Please add more information to get specific assistance. Are these wireless devices? If wired, do they use USB or PS/2 connections.

For wireless devices, try replacing the batteries and resynching to the receiver. (You may want to check putting the receiver in different USB ports.)

For wired devices, disconnect and reconnect. For PS/2 devices, you will need to restart the computer to check if the devices work. For USB devices, try connecting to different USB ports.

Next step, try using a different keyboard and mouse (that work on another computer (stick to USB or PS/2 to match the current pair)). Try a wired set if the problem is with a wireless pair. If those work, continue diagnostics on the wireless keyboard and mouse. Check if the mouse and keyboard work on another computer. If they don't work with another computer, replace them.

If another USB keyboard and mouse pair don't work in any port, your USB ports may have failed. Check if even one port works enough to access the Device Manager. (Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager (Win7); similar directions in other versions of Windows) Check for a problem with the drivers (For USB ports, scroll down to the USB drivers and look for a triangle with a yellow exclamation point or red x). Try to update the driver or roll it back. If that doesn't help and one USB port works, a USB hub may solve the problem.

Otherwise if the USB or PS/2 ports do not work with any devices and the driver fix doesn't work, then I'd suspect a problem with the ports on the motherboard. Replace the motherboard/computer.

I hope this helps.

My computer says everything is in order regarding bluetooth, however my phones ask me for passcodes; where do I get these. Thanks

Bluetooth Passcode key is the key which you assign, so if it's the first connection between your computer and bluetooth device, give anything like 11 or 11111 or 0000 whatever that suits you and you'll need to give the same code on both the computer and the bluetooth device. This is only for security which means to securely connect between the two devices only not with the unauthorized devices or unknown connections.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

When I try to pair my bluetooth phone with my Dell Dimension 8400 my phone asks for a PIN code. It suggests 0000 or 1234 but these don't work. Any suggestions?

Those are suggestion examples. That doesn't necessarily mean those are the specific numbers for your computer vs your phone. Try setting a specific pin code in your wireless networks, then enable your phone with that specific code. I don't know much about computers but that seems like a logical idea.

I am trying to pair my cell phone (VerizonTour) with my PC sony vaio vgc-js 100. my phone finds the pc but then asks for the pc''s numeric passkey. how do i find out what that is?

Your pc doesn't have a numeric pass key. All you have to do is entery any arbitrary number when it asks for the pass key. But you should the remember the number that you entered as the passkey. Once you enter the pass key in the cell phone a similar prompt will appear on the computer asking for a pass key or password or something similar. Just enter the exact same number that you entered in your cell phone. Ofcourse you don't have to do this everytime you connect. Just create a pairing relationship between your pc and your cell phone. Consult the manual of your phone to find out how to do this. This is actually a security feature. It prevents unintentional pairing of two bluetooth enabled devices. It does get kind of annoying at times.

I am trying to pair my Bluetooth 3xx plantronics headset to my computer which does have bluetooth software can you help pls?

In your bluetooth utility before it searches for available devices does it ask for an access code. These are usually factory set defaults, type in 0000. If that doesn't work check plantronics site for their default access code for your mode.
