No they do not have digital tuners inside them. They are meant to be monitors to converter boxes, cable boxes, and satellite television receivers.

I have directv already and i tried to connect it to this tv but on the back of the tv are 3 places to connect, ant.a ant.b & converter. witch one do i use?

Use the converter if you can. It sounds like your TV is setup to use a setup box already. Whether you can use anybox, or if it has to be a RCA box, remains to be seen.

So you are telling me I need a digital converter for this TV to g

Who was not watching the months of public service announcements? You need a Digital-to-Analog (ATSC-to-NTSC) converter box to receive over-the-air (OTA) signals in most parts of the country. You do not need one for most cable and satellite box outputs--they are NTSC or HDMI. Some low-power, typically religious, stations are still analog. Note OTA may be high definition (HD) or standard resolution (SD) but will be digital.
To get HD on your HD set you must have OTA (HD TV tuner, not converter), cable (QAM TV receiver), satellite (HDMI or 5-wire RCA),or Blu-Ray with HDMI or RCA.

DTV Conversion Question

Yes you can connect a DTV converter box in your van.
If the TV is DC powered you will need to buy a DC to AC inverter, like these http://www.dcacpowerinverters.com/12_volt_power_inverters.html because there are currently no dc dtv converters available.
If the tv is ac powered you will only need to connect the converter to the inverter the tv is connected to.
If you need more help or installation instructions let me know.
