Canon powershot A75 digital camera problem

My digital camerea (type described in subj. line) won't upload onto my computer. I thought it was the cable cord, so I purchased a new one, but it still will not upload. What is the problem?

All of a sudden my Powershot A75 stopped DL'ing images to my computer too - whether manually or automatically. It also does not recognize when the camera is connected to the computer.

My camera has worked perfectly for the last couple of years and suddenly the computer will no longer recognise it. I've re-loaded the software; de-installed it and installed again - no luck.

This also coincided with a few photos being identified as corrupt by the camera - not sure if this is a coincidence. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated.

My Canon Powershot A75 also stopped downloading to my computer. It says: usb unrecognized device

I have tried re-installing original software, but still will not download. I have previously downloaded thousands of photos w/o difficulty.I have read the manual thoroughly, and still no solution ?

I have this problem too. I am slightly encouraged that other people do as well, but am surprised and upset that there isn't an apparent solution. I've exchanged several e-mails with canon and they insist it can't be the fault of the camera.

HELP! I'm not taking pictures of my kid because of this.

Having bought a powershot a75 at a garage sale, I do not have the software to download pictures onto my pc. At what site can I download the software so that I can do so?

Canon doesn't make full software setups available on their web site. However, you don't need it.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto on Mac or Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ) on Windows.

You can download the manual and more from Canon's web site at

I successfully loaded the software that came witht he A75 onto my new Dell PC (OS = Windows Vista). Afterwards I connected the camera to the PC using the provided cable and the computer recognized it. I...

If your camera is not relatively new and you're running Vista, Vista may have problems seeing it. Unfortunately, this can't be corrected as Canon did not update the drivers for your camera for Vista. But there exists a good, if not better alternative way to download your photos. Please don't take the following as a sales pitch as it's not, but please see this link, as it describes the use of an inexpensive USB card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue. Note that you'll need a reader stated capable of reading CF cards.

I just purchased a Powershot A1100 and cannot figure out how to load pictures onto the Memory card. Thanks

Are you trying to load pictures onto the card using a computer? It doesn't work that way. Format the card in the camera and have fun with your new camera.

My camera will not upload any pictures onto my computer. i have all of the correct software uploaded. it used to work correctly and now all of a sudden it will not upload anything.

Buy a card reader and stop using a USB cable. Card readers are much faster than USB downloads and work as a hard drive. Cameras do not need software to download onto a computer.
