Water flow is very slow almost a dribble - we have changed filter and that did not improve the flow When frig was new water flow was very high

Cut water supply off to frig disconnect water supply line to frig water inlet valve turn water back on to make sure you are getting good water supplied to water inlet valve some times water cut off gets stopped up. If you are getting good water flow to water inlet valve then check to make water valve is opening up all the way. if not then replace valve.

Was an in line water filter added to the frig? May be clogged. If not, turn off water supply, disconnect water line from frig, and turn on water and run it into a bucket. Should be strong flow. If it's strong your water valve on frig may be clogged or not working properly.

When a water filter is replaced alot of air gets compressed in the plumbing and the filter which will cause a temporary reduction in the flow rate until the air is bled out through normal use.

Those filters are for refrigerators that have heavily treated water in the household. You could have a filter that filters your water supply and not use the filter inside the frig. Why use both? Now, if your home is not filtered, you may need it. Check to see if the water supply line is crimped somewhere or frozen when it gets inside the frig.

Check water supply make sure you have ample water and not a kinked connection from supply. It is a common failure on Amana to have a defective Filter/Head assembly.

The water valve or leaky tube.

Get a good connection to the cold water line, buy a good filter and run copper to the back of your refrigerator. Don't use a piercing valve. I know how you feel. Oh, put shutoff on side of filter housing that feeds the filter. Sea Breeze

Take off the pressure to the inlet valve or valves by turning off the wall supply

Unscrew the hose connectors making sure that you mark which ones they go back onto if your machine fills both hot and cold

Look inside the opening there will be lots of gung inside , pull out the filters carefully

You may need a pair or long nosed pliers

Wash out the filters and re-assemble

If that does not improve the flow , change the valve

hi, this can be because of the filter. when the water is flowing threw the filter, it is sent threw many channels inside the filter before it reaches the dispenser. this slows it down a bit. this is quite normal but, if it's slowed down to a dribble, i suspect a water valve malfunction or you may need to change the filter.
