Remove the felt on the platter and lift the turning platter of the centre guide pin. Please note where the belt is running, because you will have to place that into the same possition as before. Check for any dirt or debries. Clean out and replace table and belt. Hope this helps

My Audio-Technica AT-LP120 USB is "catching" when spinning, almost something is touching the turntable in one place, slows it down and takes off the right pitch.

Check the simple stuff first. Look at the LP you are playing for scratches. Even a light scratch can affect the player. Check the turntable platter and spindle to see if they are clean and set up correctly. The smallest bit of dirt can affect the turntable. Try this.
Check the playing needle is clean as a small piece of 'fluff' can cause drag as the record plays.
Remove the felt cover on the turntable then remove the platter the records sit on. It should pull up and off. Over time the platter settles in place so it might not want to come off easily. You might need a helper to push down on the spindle and turntable body to stop it lifting as you pull up on the platter. It might let go suddenly so be careful.
Inspect the platter on the top, edge and underside for dirt or anything that was trapped. Don't forget to check the hole as well.
Next check the area where the platter sits to make sure that it is also clean.
Finally check the drive spindle itself. Make sure the spindle is clean. Position yourself with the spindle at eye level and turn on the turntable to get the spindle turning, (try 45 rpm).
Watch the spindle to see if it wobbles as it spins. The spindle should spin with almost no wobble.
Refit the platter. Again go to eye level and spin the turntable. This will check the platter is fitted as level as possible.
If this doesn't sort out the issue you might need to get a specialist repairer to check that the parts inside the turntable aren't the cause of the problem.

The plate on my numark tt USB is wobbiling

I find it hard to believe some of these answers. If the platter is wobbling, if you remove the platter, you'll find the spindle the platter rotates on. That will probably be loose. At the bottom of the spindle bearing, you will find a nut. Tighten that, and you should be in business. If you have further questions please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Turntable wont play jvc Al-E45.

Hi guys, I have this exact problem. If I manually rotate the platter and engage auto return, it spins perfectly. Then when I try to play a record it fails. This lasts from minutes to hours, then fixes itself. Did anyone ever diagnose/fix this problem?

The turn table on my record player wont spin I can hear that it's on put wont spin.please somebody help

Your turntable belt is off. Remove the c-clip holding the platter to the center spindle. Remove the platter and turn it bottom side up, place the rubber belt around the platter and fix it to the little post sticking up on the outer-edge surface. The little post holds the belt to the platter while you turn the platter over and put it on so that the post points right over the motor pulley. Turn the platter by hand either clockwise or counter-CW and the belt will pop off of the post and land on the motor pulley. One drop of oil on the center spindle for lube and fasten the e-clip back on. Of courseicon1.png, the tone arm might not be actuating the power switch, you can address that with the platter off as well. Good Luck.

Record skipping despite new needle

It could be something to do with the turnatable's platter. Is the matt that the record sits on faulty. Does the platter wobble up and down with no record on it? If you can see this happening you might need to check the platter out. If it's a belt driven the belt can come out of position causing such problems. Also objects can get stuck inside the platter. Especially if you have small children in the house!!!

I have a brand-new ITUIT-201 USB turntable with a wobbly platter (slight wobble at lower speeds, and very noticable at higher speeds). This causes the record to spin unevenly, and the needle slides...

Sometimes you can push down on the platter high side to bend it gently to get it to turn level. Being brand new, you can also return the unit for repair or replacement at no cost. The cost of these things does not justify putting up with defects like this. Good luck!

Hi, could just be platter not fitted hard down on spindle. I suggest you remove the platter and place it upon a dead flat surface to check to see that the platter is flat. If it is flat refit to turntable ensuring it is hard down on the spindle. If bent discard and replace with new platter.Platters can be ordered for all model 1200/1210 from [email protected]

How do I remove the turntable platter on a Ferguson 3047?

Try looking at the spindle where the record hole goes. You might have to lift the mat somehow. There might a C Ring holding it.
