Question about Dell 3100cn Laser Printer

Dell 3100cn Its about 2 years old but is lightly used, the only cartridge I have replaced is the black one. since then it has started to but a vertical line of black blobs no more than 1mm wide and about 10 per page. have reinstalled black cartridge and used the cleaning stick to try and resolve the problem, but with no luck. I dont thin its the drum as it is desgned for much greater use tah I give it (about 20 pages a day), any suggestions ianjholder@btinternet.com Ian J holder

    tried that, someone also mentioned recalibrating the printer and cleaing the nozzles. the instruction manual does not mention how to do this

    Fixed--- it was the drum and Dell sent me a new one as the last one went only two months ago

Vertical lines almost always originate in the toner cartridge. Since you just replaced it, this would be the obvious place to start. Replace the cartridge, hopefully you can return it and get a new one free if you just purchased it.

Also try wiping off all metal contacts first and gently shaking the cartridge a little.

    the printer should automatically calibrate itself if it needs to.

did you do a nozzle clean and re calibrate, by chance? That's usual after the time cycle(in fact, should be done once a month).

It is obvious it has a failed electronic component, since these are not repaired/exchanged except when they are under warranty best thing to do is just replace it.

My sharp color copier Mx 3100n is indicating F2-73 after using 88-1 how do I restore it

The error code that you are experiencing is as follows;
F2 73 IMPROPER TONER CARTRIDGE DETECTION (YELLOW)
You need to replace the yellow cartridge with the proper part # Item Number: MX 31NTYA, MX31NTYA.

My Epson WF-3640 is printing with gaps in the text. How do I fix this issue?


Make sure you should remove shipping tape from the ink cartridge. These taps are used to protect printer during shipping but you have to remove it before starting printing. Beacuse these taps prevent the ink to entering in print head. If you will not found shipping tape in your printer then there is terr off strip, remove it. The tear off strip seals the the vent holes on the top of the cartridge to prevent it from drying out on the shelf or during shipping.
After ensuring that the shipping tape has been removed, run the printer's "Head Cleaning" utility to prime the cartridge, then print a test page.

Why is print quality poor after inserting new ink. Copies are faint and have lines


the cartridge is clogged with ink that has dried and reduced the slit. you need to replace the cartridge with a new one. it happens usually if you recharge the cartridge 3 or 4 times with compatible ink.

Colour cyan not printing


Did all of the packaging come off the toner successfullywhen first installing. Can you see cyan toner on the transfer roller? (Black roller on actusl cartridge)?

LSU error SAMSUNG SCX 4725FN


Laser Scanner Unit or LSU is what writes to the surface of the drum. The glass above the cartridge in the machine may be dirty. The mirror motor in the LSU could be bad or needs to be cleaned to spin better. The Laser diode may be faulty.

This is not a user-serviceable issue. You will need to contact Samsung for a service. You can do it online via Samsung website or contact the vendor to see who will they appoint to service the printer to, especially if it is still under warranty.

Printer won't recognize cartridge


I had the same problem. I'm not sure but I think I replaced the cartridges when the printer was on because I turned the printer off and removed one of the cartridges. When I turned the printer back on it recognized that cartridge but not the others. I turned the printer off again, rmoved all cartiridges and put them back in when the printer was still off. When I turned the printer on again I had no problems. So...try turning off the printer, rmove all cartridges, then put them back in and restart printer. Hope this works for you .
