Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

Monitor Display This morning I tried turning on my e-machine, the fan kicks on and it sounds like it's on and the lights go on. The monitor turns on (i see the Welcome screen that always occurs when you turn it on) but then it says signal missing and it won't work. I've checked all the plugs and turned off everything and unplugged all and replugged to no avail. I need this to get my homework for my night class. Help!! It's less than a year old so it's not that i'ts that old either!

Try using a different monitor, although it doesn't seem like that's the issue. If the new monitor gives you the same problem it could be your video card.

It could be the monitor. Try a different monitor. Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Good luck.

My HP desktop fan turns on as does the green light, but there is a constant beeping sound and no display on the monitor

This error message mean that there isn't video signal from the video card going to the monitor.
Try reconnecting the video cable to the monitor. If this does not work then you may have a faulty video card.

E machine model T3626 turns on display doesnt work and doesnt power off???

Sounds like either the Monitor is bad or the Video Card is bad. Try plugging another monitor on the computer and if it can't show a display then more than likely the Video Card is bad. If it shows on the monitor you just plugged in, then the original monitor is bad.

1) is their a power on the CPU. if yes lets check the monitor, uplug the monitor and turn only the monitor on, their should be some message on the monitor. If no error message on the monitor, possible monitor issue.
2) do you find any error message on the screen
2) If no light on the tower, do you find any light on the back.. please reply to this question

Computer turns on, but nothing happens

I had a similar problem with a Dell Computer. It turned out to be a bad memory card. If you have more than one memory card in the machine, take all of them out except for one. If that does not solve the problem, try swapping memory cards.

Computer monitor won't tur on

check the connector to the pc from the monitor. it may have come loose. if you have a mouse, try moving it and see if the light on the monitor turns to green. it is possible the video has failed.
