Re: Downloading add-ons. T/T one XL - 4S00 007:
Yes, you can...
BUT, why only 1Gb card? If I remember correct, thats exactly what the device has internaly... The device cannot, if i remember correct, read both cards at the same time. So if you put in a 1Gb card, you havent expanded memory at all, just "moved" it...
The software/map have to be on the sd card for the device to work...
POI and SpeedCam files goes into the map folder.
Just copy/paste them all over. Remember, you have an upper limit in numbers, but try with 100 POI files, that should work.

For the TomTom One XL GPS, you can use any SD card that is 512MB or 1 GB in size. It doesn't support SD cards with larger storage, e.g. 2 GB, 4GB, etc.
You can buy these SD cards at many stores that sell memory cards, e.g. for digital cameras, etc. If you can find/buy an SD card categorize as Class 10, it is faster than one that is Class 4. You wouldn't want to go below Class 4 unless you can tolerate slower performance/speed on the GPS device.
This was is a known bug to TomTom. The suggested solution is to update to the newest software version. The Download Page Here is where you can get the newest version.
Ensure that you have the latest version of TomTom HOME installed
Backup your navigation device by clicking Backup and restore in HOME
Make sure you have enough space on your memory card or internal memory.
Transfer your favourites to your new map
Downloading and installing your map
Select your navigation device:
i had the same problem with a go 750 eventually i just bought a 4gig card and that solved the problem... you see a 2gig card isn't 2000mb it is only around 1900mb. i think that might solve your problem
Hi,maybe that the memory card is knackered! (tomtom ones are poor quality and slow) Have you got a spare card that you use in a camera maybe, if so format it using fat 32 on your computer and then copy and paste all your files one by one onto it. I this works I would recommend a sandisk ultra 2 as a replacement card, worked for me!
This problem is due to the memory card not containing the TomTom application or map. To update the application onto the memory card
Connect the device to your computer.
Open the TomTom Home application.
Click on 'Update My Device'.
This should then install the application onto the SD card. Alternativly, you could perform all the steps above without the SD card in the device, this will install the application onto the internal memory. Note: you may also need to install your maps, voices, etc after you updat.
If you want to play mp3 songs from sd card then create mp3 folder and place all the songs in side that folder. Now when you go to Juke box menu it will scan all the songs and you will be able to play them the way you want..
