It seems to be a problem with the colour ink cartridge ,did you remove the protective tape that came with it?
you should return the colour cartridge and get it replaced or buy another one.
If that doesn't solve it then return the printer since it's under warranty.
the problem is very simple the magenta ink the cartridge is over or the head is been blocked from where the magenta ink comes out,
because red colour requires ---yellow plus magenta(pink)----to make it red.and ----dark yellow plus magenta(pink) -------- for brown colour.
Print is brown: mingles yellow with bk and cyan and red.
Did you use generic ink? You have to use a set of original brother ink carts: dinsert the original carts. press menu then start b/w copy then fourtimes arrow-up. when machine is in maintenance mode press 7 then 6 then 4 then start b/w copy. machine will initiate the carts and do some power cleaning. whnen finished press 7 then 6 then 3 then start b/w copy. machine does a power purge. leave maintenance by pressing 9 then 9. Do run a test print. If you cant see any mag. do the power purge two days later. If your not lucky then (you cant see ANY mag squares on test print) the head is defective and needs replacemnt.
Just replace the non genuine inks with proper Canon ones and then do about 4 full cleans, that should fix it. If not you will have to replace the printhead, which is usually caused by using non genuine ink. Good luck
