Hi,
i,m assuming that you have a hard-drive, and this is a premium x-box 360 ?
it,ll only work with the hard-drive attached.
If you go to xbox.com theres all the information you need there.
you have 3 options. 1 is to update via x-box live.
2. you can download the file, and burn the image.
3. order a disk via mail.
If you have any problems, obtaining the CD. please leave me your e-mail address here.
And i,ll send you 1 FREE Of charge.
If you don,t have a hard-drive. thats definately the problem.

    Hi Buddy,

If you download the file from Microsoft, you simply burn it onto a CD. put it in the 360. and put it in the Drive.

And it will ask you if you want to update. you click yes.

And the update takes place, and auto reboots the console.

Also ensure your signed in on a gamer profile.

I,ll send you the file, via e-mail. you should be able to do this Fine.

    Regards Mike.

When i try to buy a game on the marketplace it wont work for xbox 360 and i dont know how to fix it i went on billing.microsoft.com too

See the problem is with your internet connection. Some internet connections only allow limited activity ask a parent in the house to recheck the setting otherwise the only possible problems can be your system requires a update and try reconnecting your xbox again to your network . Ps make sure to check all the pop ups the hidden messages are the key to whats wrong.

I am trying to log into my gamertag but it is requiring some update. It says that the update can not load and reverts me back to the Yes, update now or No, don't update. I hit No, dont update once but then...

I fixed mine by going into System Settings, Network settings, then running a test on xbox live. Initiating the test logs your profile out then runs a network test. The test completed with no problems and then asked me if I wanted to update again. Without logging back into my profile I clicked OK and the update ran without a hitch. I think the solution lies in the fact that my profile was logged out and from what I have seen, the only way to connect to xbox live without a profile being logged in is with a network test. Once you connect to xbox live it senses that you don't have the update and asks you again, this time without a profile logged in and you are able to do it.

Im trying to update my xbox but it wont connect ive done everything it told me but still wont let me

Here's how I fixed mine. When I got the message stating that the download was unsuccessful I went into settings, then network, and I tested my network connection. During a network test it automatically logs your profile out, but when the test came back good, before it logged my profile back in, it asked me to update again. I hit "a" to accept the update and it worked this time. I think the key is that it has to attempt the update before logging your profile back in. I think the key is updating with the profile logged out, which under normal circumstances you can't do, only during a network test.

If that fix doesn't work you might try going into your network settings in the dashboard and lowering your firewall restrictions, then updating, then putting your firewall restrictions back to what they were.

When i turn the xbox 360 on it says that i have to do an update for xbox live but the update wont work

My xbox did the same thing, this is how I fixed mine. After I got the message saying the update was unsuccessful, I went to settings, and network settings. I tested the network connection and the test came back with no problems, but before my xbox signed my profile back in (your profile is automatically signed out when you do a network test) it asked me again if I wanted to update and I said yes, this time it worked without a hitch.

System update problem

I just had this issue on my own xbox. What worked for me was after getting the error message that said the download was not successful I went to the settings menu, network settings, and tested my network connection. Everything tested ok, but before my xbox signed my profile back in it asked me to update again. I told it to update again and it worked this time.

Xbox 360 elite update wont work keeps signing me out

When the update is applied, it is supposed to sign you out.

If you are signed out and the update is not successful, there may possibly be a problem with your connection.
