On Windows Live Messenger,I send the person I'm talking with an invitation to view my webcam and it says my partner cancelled the invite,but when I ask,they say the invite never even showed up,how do I fix this?

Messenger, Skype, Windows Live or ICQ by going to their websites and installing the software. For instance, if you want to install Yahoo! Messenger, simply go to Yahoo.com and click on the "Messenger" link on the left side of the screen next to the "smiley face" icon, and install the software by clicking on the "Download Now" tab and following the instructions. Invite other friends to your chat. Voice over IP software services such as Yahoo! Messenger, Skype and Windows Live have integrated features that allow you to converse with other people while seeing each other through the webcam. Invite friends by opening the chat software you are using and clicking on the "add new contact" or "add" option and typing the person's email or User ID in the blank box. Wait for the other person to accept your invitation. Once you see the person listed under your contacts, right-click and select the "video call" or "video chat" option. This will vary depending on the software you are using, but the process is similar regardless of the software you decide to use.

Skype will automatically detect that you have a webcam attached to your computer and give you the option to place either a voice-only or a video call to the contact. Click the following link to download and install Windows Live Messenger from the Microsoft web site. Before downloading the program, you should setup a user account. There may be a fee for some advanced features. After launching Windows Live Messenger, to setup the webcam, select Tools , and Audio and video setup ... . During the set up, verify the microphone and speakers are active, and click Next to configure the webcam. Use the drop-down menu to select the desired webcam video capture device. If one driver does not display the desired image, select a different driver. After the webcam is tested, you can initiate a video conference using the webcam.

1. Sign into Windows Live Messenger.
2. To invite someone else to view your webcam, click the down arrow that is located in the upper-right corner of the Windows Live Messenger window. Select Actions , then select Video , and then click Show your webcam .
3. If prompted, verify the setting in the Audio and Video Setup window.
   1. Verify that the speakers or headset that you would like to use is selected, adjust speaker volume as necessary, and continue.
   2. Verify that the microphone that you would like to use is selected, adjust microphone volume as necessary, and continue.
   3. Verify that HP Webcam is selected and finish.
4. Select the contact to whom you wish to send an invitation and click OK .
5. You will see a stamp in the chat window indicating that you have invited your selected contact to start viewing your webcam. You will also see yourself in the webcam in the bottom-right corner of the chat window.

if u wish to see the person u talking to then ask them to switch on the webcam and invite you to view their webcam image then u can see them with whom you are chating...

I am going to assume that you already have installed your webcam and can use it within windows with the software it came with.

I am also going to assume you are using yahoo messenger 10.

To activate your webcam in Yahoo! Messenger 10 in the top menu click Messenger, then from there select My WebCam.

Read the warning that should pop up, click OK and then select your speed preference and click OK.
Another box should come up showing your webcam view. It will monitor how many users are watching yor webcam.

This is a problem with your messenger software which you are using to do a video chat.
Please uninstall and reinstall the messenger program you use.

Completely exit Live Messenger and then delete all contents of %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts folder.
Start Live Messenger again.

Step3Locate the "Personal" link and click it with your mouse. 4 Find the "My Webcam" area and either select or de-select next to where it says "Allow Others to See That I Have a Webcam." I, too, am experiencing the same problem. Even took it in to the Geek Squad and they think it might be a software imcompatabiliity issue. No help whatsoever........JP
