Put some water in the tray. Let it freeze and once frozen will the ice then empty into the ice bin? If yes then the problem is possibly one side of the water control valve is defective. This is not the correct water control valve for your model number. HERE You need to provide the correct model number first.
What is the model number? I am here should you need me, Thanks John Tripp Appliance 911
I have had this issue with my french door kitchen aid freezer drawer. I have a toddler who sometimes gets into the drawer. If it is left open just a hair, it will melt everything completely and water leaks out all over the floor.
The drain gets clogged when the door gets pushed back in for a tight seal and freezes again. Try to focus on keeping a really tight seal every time you open and then close the freezer...its almost like you have to TRY to close it hard to ensure it is closed. Total pain, but it works. When the door is closed tight, it stays like it is supposed to .
Tube sometimes freezes because of minerals in it hold one droplet at a time until buildup freezes solid. Replace tube first. Water valve allowing some droplets through can also cause this. Tube first-less expensive.
Hello Frozen Up! Sorry about the freezing problem. Do you and your family use a lot of crushed ice? If so, get used to the freezing up! The same thing happens to our Maytag with crushed ice and we normally clean it out every evening after a day of using a lot of crushed ice. As far as I know, there are no recalls, just happy that we have crushed ice at our disposal. Hope this helps! Ella
I have run into this before and found it very helpful to re-level the refrigerator. By leaning the fridge back toward the wall about an inch helped keep the water and ice in the tray. Remember to remove items that block air flow in the freezer. Remove the ice bin and clean it then start over with the fridge leaning back a little. Hope this helps.
