I am looking to buy a used 90' Mitsubishi Mighty Max. My question is it worth buying if the main computer chip is out and is this a simple fix?

Short answer - Yes......BUT......

It will be TERRIBLY, HUMUNGOUSLY, ASTRONIMICALLY EXPENSIVE !!!

When buying this vehicle brand new, you could request 'factory' aircon option for around $1,000 - $2,000.

To attempt to install all the components 'aftermarket' would be several thousand dollars.

You would require additional aircon radiator/condensor, all piping (engine bay + dash), compressor, evaporator...then charge with refrigerant etc....the list goes on !!

It would be cheaper to buy same vehicle with aircon already factory installed.

I'd at least invest some time and remove the head and look to see what you are working with. Have the head dye tested and also checked for warpage. if the head is OK, then do the gasket. If you severely overheated it, or if you had other engine problems before the head gasket failed, then I'd get a replacement engine ( many choices available from local craigslist, scrapyards and rebuilders ). Be sure to find the cause of the overheat that led to the gasket failure, otherwise you can do the same thing to the new one. If it's an automatic trans car, change the trans fluid also as it breaks down when it gets too hot.

Yes, it will matter. When you purchase a used computer... you have to make sure that the "donor" truck has every option that your truck has. Like cruise, Int. wipers, and stuff like this. Both trucks have to be the same.

THE spark plug gap in the plugs when new are set but if you are cleaning and regaping then set them to 25 thou and you should have nomore problems.

itz probly electric located in the gas tank like most new cars now u need to get a haynes or clymer manual that shows step by step-even then it takes some experience-take it slow are u sure the pump is bad check the whole fuel delivery system 1st a pressure regulator could be bad or clogged lines-please use jackstands

If you are speeking of the check engine light you can disconnect the battery for a few minutes then reconnect it and the light should go off.

Likely need to buy a new clutch cable and install,and adjust for proper freeplay,and also possibly address the hole in the firewall .The hole needs to be looked at to make sure it is not oversized,cracked,bent,or otherwise unable to retain the cable.
