Cartridge 57 failed

I have replaced my colour ink & it came up catridge No: 57 failed.

I thought the cartridge was faulty, so i bought another & it still won't work.

I have seen a lot of the same error messages on other mail chat rooms about the same problem.

What is wrong & how can i fix it.

I am just about to throw this printer out the window

Cartridge failed #57, its a new cartridge (few weeks old), plus my color cartridge is new also.

I think I may have solved this problem. What I did was take out the #56 cartridge and hit the print button. It started to calibrate and then said it was printing on reserve or something? Yup, it printed with only one (#57 cartridge). After that, I stuck in a new #56 cartridge and so far so good for it only happened yesterday.

I hope this solves your cartridge #57 failed problem. Let me know if it does.

I have an HP Photosmart 7760 and this worked great for me!

All Print Cartridges Are Being Rejected

The power module for the HP Photosmart 7260, 7450, 7660, 7755, 7760, and 7960 series printers may cause false cartridge rejection. If the power module is the cause of the issue, all print cartridges will be rejected. Replacing any or all of the cartridges will not resolve the issue.

If, after ensuring the correct cartridges are properly installed and having cleaned the cartridge contacts, the printer is still rejecting all cartridges and is an HP Photosmart 7260, 7450, 7660, 7755, 7760, or 7960 series printer, follow the steps below.

1. Turn off the printer.

2. Disconnect the USB and power cables from printer.

3. If the printer is powered through a surge protector or a power strip, move the printer to a wall outlet that is known to work.

4. Reconnect the power cord only.

5. Turn on the printer.

6. If the printer is still rejecting all cartridges, move the printer to another room and try again.

7. If after moving the printer to another room, the printer still rejects all print cartridges, replace the power module. Do not replace the cartridges or attempt to service the printer.

8. If replacing the power module fails to correct the issue, replace the printer only.

Printer has been idle for several weeks. When I came to use it the printing is broken and faded looking. How do I clean the cartridges?

HP Deskjet 5550 Printer.

The deskjet printers should not be kept idle.

At least once in two or three days, you can take one page print out.

This has to be done, otherwise, the inks both Black and colour will get frozened and sometimes it will become dry at the catridge mouth.

Black Ink is 56 and Colour is 57.

Solution :

01. Manually remove both catridges from the printer carefully.

02. Shake the catridges with full force pointing towards ground. You can find out now, that ink is coming out from the catridges which was frozen or dried up.

03. Clean the cartridge drive with a nice cloth and cleaning liquid.

04. Re install both catridges and take a test print out.

05. Recommended to have a service contract with local HP Authroized printer vendor to have a regular maintenance at least once in a month.

I have just installed a black cartridge in my Brother MFC-440CN printer and on the small screen it says "ink empty-black". What could the problem be?

It could be just a faulty cartridge, but try turning off printer at power point, leave 5 to 10 minutes and turn on, alternative is remove and replace cartridge or return cartridge to shop you bought it from and get a replacement. Industry standard for OEM cartridges is 2% failure rate!!!

In this case as u said u used this Catridges in 2 printers then check if u have removed the Transparent Strip from the catridges mand if it is removed and still u face this problem make sure u have inserted the Catridges in the right slot........ U need to insert the colour catridge on the right side and the black catridge should go on the left side.... If no go get the catridges replaced....... Good Luck.......
