Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

No association with access point

The first thing I would recommend is to try plugging the adapter into another laptop to see whether it, or your laptop, is the problem.
If it's OK on the other laptop, I would suggest un-installing the driver for the adapter, upgrade Windows XP to latest, downloading the latest driver from the Linksys website then re-installing the driver according to manufacturer's instructions.

Compaq Presario 2050NX onboard pnp nic (LAN) device not found - reinstalled onboard LAN device driver, still can't see it

For Windows XP CLICK HERE
In Windows 7 the driver installs automatically
I would suggest uninstalling all drivers for the network adapter then reboot and allow the system to find the NIC again. If this is Windows XP uninstall all drivers for the NIC, reboot, and install the above driver.
If it is Windows 7 uninstall the drive, reboot and allow device manager to locate the driver itself.

Try to Install this driver for Windows XP, directly from their website.
By the way, if your adapter's version is 1.0, its user guide is here. On the other hand, if it is 2.0, the corresponding user guide can be found here.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out soon.

Windows can not configure this connectio

This often occurs if you install the controlling software that came with the device. If you remove the controlling software, Windows should then be able to configure the wireless device.

Click start, then Settings, then Control panel (you may be able to skip the 'settings' step, depending on your configuration).

Once inside the control panel, find the Add / Remove Programs option and open it.

When the list of programs shows on your screen, scroll down to find anything that starts with Linksys; highlight it, then remove the software.

Restart your computer if asked. Upon restart (assuming the device is connected) if the computer tells you it found new hardware, allow it to install automatically all the way through. Do NOT reinstall the software from the disk that came with the device.

Once this is complete, Windows should configure your wireless for you.

Good luck.
