Question about Compaq Presario X1000 Notebook

So once you think windows has loaded, under a bright light see if you can actually see your desktop, albeit very dark. Inverters can be sourced in US at around $20-50 so not too bad.
Exactly what is wrong with mine.
How do I get an "inverter" and is this something the average person can repair?
You have one of two problems. Either your inverter has gone bad or your backlight is burned out. You can find both items as well as instructions on how to replace each from http://store.ccfldirect.com/lcdtutorial.html
