Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I just bought a JBL CS3/CS5 DVD Receiver several months but only started to unpack. Unfortunately while moving house, I lost the receipt and guarantee card. But when I setup the system, there is no video either from the HDMI or the composite video outputs. When I use another DVD player with the same DVD disc, it works perfectly. What can possibly be the problem with the JBL DVD Receiver?

Hi,

I had the same problem with mine - eventually it just stopped playing anything. Turns out that the HDMI from the Tv to the CS3 was actually 'reprogramming' my CS3. My flatmate gave it a system reset and that seemed to fix it.

I now have the problem that when I play blueray DVDs with dolby digital from my PS3 via optical digital i get the sound cutting out intermittently for a couple of seconds grrrrr.

    Hi,

    I have the same problem.
When connecting it by HDMI it says on the tv screen "not supported" and when I connect it with SCART it says no signal.
When I connect the cables with a different (simply LG DVD player) it functions.
Even stranger, when I connect my JBL to a different LCD TV, it does function.

Can you tell me how your flatmate gave it a system reset, because I can not fine anything about that possibility in the manual.
I hope that a system reset will help it function again.
    Thanks

Greetz, have chatted to my flatmate. I was slightly incorrect, it was the HDMI feedback to the unit from the TV that reset the CS3 to factory settings, and that caused it to go back to the UK region, and we are in NZ. DVDs zoned for NZ wouldn't play any more. So I have instructions in PDF from JBL to set it to the right zone and even make it multizone. Email me [email protected] and I'll send you the PDF.

I have photoshop cs3 can I upgrade to photoshop cc?

Yes, you can upgrade, but you will not be eligible for a discount price.

From Adobe's website: (http://www.adobe.com/products/cs6/faq.html#upgrade-eligibility)
Q: I own a previous version of a Creative Suite product or suite edition. Do I get a discount if I upgrade to CS6?
A: Owners of a CS5 or CS5.5 suite edition qualify for upgrade pricing to a CS6 suite edition. Owners of an individual CS5 or CS5.5 product qualify for upgrade pricing on that CS6 product. Any version earlier than CS5 will not be eligible for upgrade pricing.

I need authorization code please....

You'll need to call Adobe at 1-800-585-0744 and ask them to purchase Adobe Photoshop CS3, as it is not being sold anymore. However, you can purchase Photoshop CS5 from their website.

If you've already purchased it but lost the access code, you'll need to find some proof of purchase, like a receipt or the card you used to buy it or something, then call them up and request a replacement code.

I need to close the application for CS3 Illustrator, inorder to install the new version of CS5 Illustrator. The thing is I don't have it open, I'm unable to open it, and this why I am installing CS5....

You can try Safe mode - Press F8 during boot up at access safe mode and try and uninstall your old version there. You can try ans press Ctrl - Alt - Del and end process any thing that looks like the program that is running. -- Safe mode may be easier.

CS3? its ancient. Adobe just came out with CS5.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 shipped on April 16, 2007 and is no longer hosted on Adobe Labs. You can find the latest information about Photoshop CS3 at the new product page on Adobe.com.
