Foxconn p4m800p7ma-rs2 motherboard on Gforce FX5500 system halted

You refer to Master/Slave disks. Are you actually using the Master/Slave jumper settings? Must motherboards and OSs today recommend putting the disks in the CABLE SELECT jumper setting. The problem with the old Master/Slave setting is that the Controller on the Master Disk is used to control the Slave disk as well. This can lead to problems when disks are made by different manufacturers, as sometimes they are not fully compatible. In CABLE SELECT, each disk controller works independently.

My p5kpl-am mobo doesnt power on,last time, i change the processor, its ok but then ii put the original processor i doesnt power on anymore, what is the problem, is there anything to fix it

Hi

Changing the CPU may have corrupted the BIOS.

Disconnect the power cable , then remove the small silver CMOS battery for 2 minutes to reset the BIOS memory of the change of CPU., the try to power up again.

I hope this helps.

Motherboard booting problems...How do I solve?

Hi

Try to boot with 1 stick of ram then swap it with the other and try again. Next unplug the case front connections from the mobo header (pins). Draw a sketch where they all go so you don't forget. I'm talking about the power switch, reset SW, HDD LED etc. Also remove anything connected to the back panel printers etc. Also remove the mouse and keyboard. Carefully, momentarily short the pins that were connected to the power switch and note results.

If it still doesn't boot, remove all parts from the mobo except 1 Stick of RAM, graphics card, PSU, and of course CPU. Leave the mouse and keyboard unplugged. Try to boot by shorting the mobo pins again. If it doesn't boot it is most likely either the PSU or the mobo. It could also be the CPU or RAM but it is less likely.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

Computer does not fire up anymore after CPU exchange.

First, check the PSU on another puter if available. If it works, the MB is the most likely culprit.
Check the capcitors (round tower looking things around the MB). If any are bulging or show brown "dirt", the MB needs replacing unless you know how to replace capacitors (Youtube has tutorials if your brave enough).
You may also have a damaged southbridge. Ebay may have replacement chips (replacing is similar to the capacitors).

Computor keeps rebooting 8 times out of 10 starts back up in safemode says because of slow cpu speed

Hi,
This usually happens when you have a lot of dust inside your CPU and the cooler doesn't work properly anymore.
Just open and lean your CPU and it will all be fine.
Hope this helps, wbw team

Ga-6vxd7 keyboard wont work to boot from cd

Hi,
Plug the USB keyboard into another port (preferably one at the back) restart the PC and enter the BIOS again, this time go through the BIOS and set all the USB controllers to enabled, hit F10 save the changes and exit the bios. The computer will restart and you should now be able to use the USB keyboard to install the OS.
Please post back if you need anymore advice.

Good luck

UNDERCLOCKING

Hi, open your manual to section 1.9, page 1-12. Follow the instructions to clear the cmos. (Do not forget to set the jumper back to normal).
If you no longer have your P4S800D-X manual, you can download it in PDF format from Asus at this link;
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P4S800D-X&SLanguage=en-us
Need Adobe Reader? Download here;
http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/

Once the cmos has been reset your CPU should show auto the CPU to its default settings.

Good luck!
