Question about Archos AV400 Digital Media Player

Memory card error

Hi,

I'm hoping you can help me with my problem... I must warn you I am an absolute novice when it comes to digital cameras. I was deleting photos off my compact flash card and all of a sudden a "memory card error" message appeared on my camera screen. Now when the memory card is inserted into the camera and I try to bring up the photos a "no images" message appears.

Now I'm hoping that there is some way my photos can be retrieved because they are very precious as they are of my one and only baby and they document every single day of her life. Please help they have a very high sentimental value!

#1
Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
#5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
#6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Can't open SD camera card--error message.

1. Do not save any new file to memory card.
2. Connect your card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download a recovery software, recommended one is this photo recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)
SD Card Photo Recovery
4. Install and open the photo recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your deleted photos.

You may refer to this tutorial

hope this helps.
