Hey taliadoros,

According to the manufacturer, this particular model appears to allow filming in NTSC format only. Unfortunately this means that in order to play any video footage recorded on this camcorder, the device being used to play the footage back would also need to be NTSC-compliant.

Please keep in mind that while some electronics sold in Europe may be both NTSC and PAL-compliant, it cannot be guaranteed that footage filmed using your camcorder will be compatible with all multi-format model devices.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Additionally, some companies may provide NTSC-to-PAL/PAL-to-NTSC conversion software, but you would need computer access in order to take advantage of this option. You should be able to find a number of programs by using any internet search engine for key phrases, such as "NTSC-to-PAL conversion software."

I am trying to make a dvd from a HDD video cam to a sony DVDirect recorder VRD-MC3 and a message saying non supported USB devbice keeps comiong up. Can you hellp?

The manual of the DVD doesn't say much for models, say's sony HDD, sony DVD, so maybe it's not compatible. Do you have a memory stick for the handycam ? If you stored the video on the internal storage, check the manual to see if you can move it to the memory stick, then put the stick into the DVD player. Or you will need a PC to transfer it with USB, then get a memory stick and put all the video on in and not internal storage, if the DVD is not compatible with the handycam.

Check video input setting to DVD recorder...should be set to "External" or "Line". This should activate the video input jacks on the rear of the RDR-VX530 and allow it to "see" your Sony handycam.

Problem playing movies in my Sony DVD player DVP-NS53P not all movies play just some but most of the time I have to try several times so that it can play a dvd

U might have micro scratches in the laser disk surfaces,or smuches.Or if buy from Asia or Europe have region codes differences.
Next time ur disk don't play just take little dish washing soup clean it,so the laser have a clean surfaces to scan & read.

Downloading video from Sony DCR-HC45 Camcorder using a 1394 Firewire. My PC is not recognising the connection. It did work at one stage without any problem but not any longer. What must I do

You have to go on Device Manager and delete the imaging device. Then uninstall old drivers and software used with the camcorder. With 32 bit OS (Win XP and Win 7 32 bit) install Nero 8 Essentails or any other video capture software. Do not plug in external device during install. After installation is complete, reboot your PC. Now you can connect your camcorder with firewire port and then open the nero software. Under video capture, it will detect your sony camcorder.

Copy from VHS c to DVD

Older movies will do that w/out problem. newer dvds will not because of piracy protection. A way to copy vhs to dvd is hook up a dvd camcorder or digital camcorder from the output on the player to the input on the recorder and press record that should work.
f.y.i. this suggestion is nothing more than a solid maybe. Sorry it's the best i got

Creating a DVD from digital tape

i took my unit back to electronic express a chain here in tennessee

the guy was baffled at first

then he got a firewire and plugged it into the ilink place on the front of the unit and it copies my old canon recorded tapes just fine

what happened??? who the heck knows --- somehow the chip that prevents the movie copying was reading my old canon recorded tape as copyright -- this somehow bypasses that

if i am not mistaken you can buy attachments to make sure they fit your type of camcorder - my new sony hi def camera came with one - so i had no problem

here is the other kicker --- WHEN I CALLED SONY AND ASKED IF THE ILINK HOOK UP WOULD MAKE THE DUBBING WORK -- THE IDIOT SAID NO he was dead wrong

i will never buy another sony in my life

i stil have not tried to tape movies to dvd and or vhs --- but i already have the machine so i'm stuck with it

what i'd like to know is which combo units do NOT have the blocking chip

could somebody update on the law about this

thanks

i hope this helps

please let me know
