Catching one Channel Only

My Hp ExpressCard Digital/Analog Tv Tuner is only catching one channel from the cable tv signals. I wish to use my laptop to watch Tv but the either the card is not working or I am not configuring it correctly. I have checked all the steps from hp website. I have connected the Tv cable straight to the Tv Tuner and it shows only one channel but when i connect the table to tv it works fine. Can anyone help

i have the same problem, i don't speak english, so i try to explain: i uninstall the driver, with the tuner plugged, restart, unplug the tuner, install driver, plug the tuner, i can look all channels, i end the session, or turn off the computer, and when i want to see the tv again, only one channel is in all the channels, i try to change channel and the number change, but the image and sound is the same for all. i have to uninstall all again to see the other channels. Help please

Well i have figured it out actually only those channels are played which have the region you specified even though the channels are there but not of the region you selected. So when I changed y region i found out that there are more than 100 channels are coming. In tv there it is not filtering on region so catching all the channels.

When I insert my HP ExpressCard EC680 Analog TV Tuner card, I can only receive the signal from ONE channel. It will not upload the other channels or the guide. I get a message saying "IR DEVICE NOT DETECTED" every time I try to go through the Media Center setup.

Can anyone help? HP's support personnel were NOT helpful in resolving this problem at all. I used to be able to watch and record TV on my laptop using this card with NO problems. We recently changed from Comcast cable to AT&T UVerse -- would this effect this?

Hope someone out there can help me - it's driving me crazy. Is there a new driver I need to install on the laptop for this Express Card to work with the AT&T Cable Box?

    Thanks!

Hi: friend
My hp express card, when using a top box privided by the cable provider, the tuner's remote control does not change any channels
The top box remote control must be used instead, this means there in no independence for working only with the hp express card
Further my windows vista laptop will not download the most recent signal settings at all
Thank you for taking these problems in consideration for a future solution
Sincerely
Alteration

A TV card probably wont be able to tune it in...or decode(decrypt) it for that matter. Is a CableTv set top box plugged in? (the box your cable company supplies you with) -damian

I just purchased a laptop and I can't watch TV on it

Yes, you cannot watch TV without one! They are easy to set up and produce both digital and analog. some of the more expensive ones even allow HDMI. cost anywhere from $50-$300

The cheap ones work quite well.

HP Express Card Digital / Analog not working

First thing I tried to do was to install the drivers that came into the CD didn't work, just using mydvd9 the import/aqcuire option I could have some noise signal, but couldn't find a way to select channels and hanged after a while. This is too trickier, I thought, it should be a way to used quickplay and other applications.

I couldn't get anything from HP site so investigating I found the following.

1) Had to upgrade quickplay to latest version (is pretty cool btw)
2) The card internally is a Hauppage and found that is actually the HVR1500 http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hvr1500.html.
Drivers + application can be downloaded at http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support_hvr1250.html

3) After upgrading quickplay and installing drivers and application from hauppage, Quick play had additionally an hp digital tv tuner entry, but here in canada there is no digital signal transmitted through antenna.
4) I have reinstalled manually the drivers that came in the CD, but from the c:\swsetup\HP Digital tv tuner folder
5) After this I had at quickplay a second source "Hp Analog Tv tuner" which allowed me to caputure the regular air signal and wintv worked as well

I'm sure that I did some redundant steps, but it worked and now can I have everything working (quickplay, wintv, digital, analog signals)

Hope this helps and btw I haev uploaded the manuals for thouse who can't get it, since HP doesn't have them in the website.

Cheers

Alejandro

Play & Record VHS through TV Tuner Card

You need to connect the ariel to the vcr, then the vcr to the card, using a male/female fly lead. Then I suggest putting an origional film tape into the vcr, press play on the vcr and then scan in the channels on the card. It should pick up the vcr's output of the film that is playing.

Wireless internet and tuner

You need to have a tv tuner to be able to watch tv. If the express card you have is a tv tuner, you'll have to run a cable from the laptop to your cable tv connection or set top box. You can't do it over the internet.

Tuning to pick up sky feed

Sounds like from discription the sky feed is set up for analog channel 6. With my TV-HVR-1600 card, there is an option in the wintv application when you click the menu button in the application that says channel suite. If you select this option, you should find and option for analog source. Select analog source in this screen and you should be able to manually add channel 6 in the box at the top of the analog souce screen. Also if you have the sky feed connected and you you click the scan button on this screen, it should detect automatically is the sky feed is on.
