My 700 mju has a strange problem. After i turn my camera on in what ever mode, the display turns white. If i click, i mean with the display totally white, i am still getting the pictures ok( i cant see the pictures while i am taking them though, i can see them only after connecting the memory card to my pc). Also the time taken by the display to turn white changes by the frequency of me switching on the camera. so if i switch the camera on every few min, the display turns white in only 2 or 3 seconds. but if i don't switch it on, for longer durations like 30 min. the displays working longer like app 30 seconds. i hope u guys understand the problem...... i am not sure whats to be done.....any solution would be appreciated.

Re: diplay turning white on mju 700...
Sounds like your camera was dropped and the LCD was damaged. The white screen you see is typical for a defective LCD screen. The only way to repair the camera is to replace the bad part with a known good one.
One solution would be to buy a defective camera online that has a good LCD screen and swap them out.

Hello Jakub, As you might already know that you are not the only one who is getting this error.. there are thousands of others with you .. If that makes you happy :D This code is a troubleshooting service code for "malfunction of focus motor/sensor". It is a motor/sensor issue and is normally caused by sand or dirt in the lens
cover mechanism. Try to turn on camera while holding it with
the lens pointing up. You might even try hitting the camera on your palm in that position (by hitting, i don't mean a real HIT .. be sure that you are gentle not to break the camera). If that doesn't work then try this... when the lens is trying to come out and cannot come out completely then you can assist the lens by pulling it out manually (once again, understand that its a delicate camera and I don't want you to show how powerful you are by pulling it with all your mighty vigor.. be hard and gentle at the same time .. I hope you understand what i mean)
Please let me know if any of the above steps work for you and do rate the solution :) All the best.
The error message (D: 5f08 5e02) means that your lens is dying / dead. It just happened to mine (on the Mju 700, but it's the same thing) and I was told that it could be repaired, but it would cost as much as a new camera. I've only had mine 2 years and I've been really careful with it, so I'm a bit annoyed, but I have used it a lot!
HI ! this is strange as mine has just done the exact same thing on the 19th Oct !! Have Olympus put a breakdown timer in or what ??
I am sending mine back for repair as you have a 2 year guarantee on it ( you must still have the Waranty card and shop receipt though, to claim this ) . If not , then i'm afraid you may have to pay for a repair, BUT if this is an inherent fault, then you may be able to claim on this point ? I do not know what country you are in , but in the UK look at this link : http://www.berr.gov.uk/whatwedo/consumers/fact-sheets/page38311.html
Sales of goods act
In any case , may be worth contacting Olympus Support ( you can go to their web site) http://olympus-europa.com/
Hope this helps!
i have a mju300 with the same housing.when i put the camera in the housing it is on but i turn the screen off.this is the button that is next to the screen and next to the ok button.when i want to use the camera i just turn the screen back on.
the lens open halfway, the picture on the LCD is blurry and one second
after the lens close and an error appears of the screen saying "D: 5f08
5e02". what does this mean??? can you help me fixed this one??
Suggest you go through all the other menus to check whether you have the camera working in some mode which isn't compatible with flash.
For instance, my Olympus (different model) won't allow you to select flash if you're working in super macro mode.
