Question about Toshiba Tecra A4 Notebook

1 Answer

Error code I have a tecra a4 hopefully still in one piece. Took it to a guy to repair not looking good he has told me ifI want to trade it in as he can not fix it. sounds like BS as he said they were a great machine before he looked at it. Sometimes it boots up ok and runs for a few hours sometimes 10 minutes then freezes and sometimes it goes into blue screen of death and comes up with an error code while booting up( not to sure as I don't have it back yet) Regards John

Got it back now it doesn't even come up with the blue screen of death or xp when it did before. The power button just keeps flashing now I think it is time for the bin. He might of swapped parts on me.

A curious question concerning the lint trap. When I took the back off the dryer and took off the section that houses the lint trap I found lint half way down the in this section along with what appears to...

I am a furnace repair guy by trade, but as far as I know there shouldn't be anything in the lint trap section, are you sure its insulation and not lint?

If you had lint going that far down the trap, you may have lint plugging up your line going out the house. If you have the flexible pipe with the rings on it going out the house. I would look into the cleaning out the vent line.

One test you can do yourself, run your dryer find the vent on the outside of the house and feel the air coming out, if its hesistant or slow coming out, your vent might plugged up. If you have lint hanging from the vent outside or on the ground. Definately look into getting your vent cleaned out.

Trying to open audi a4 bonnet, removed from grill and srews but can't get the third one which is right back, lever moves up and down no problem but looks to be catching

I took a long thin screwdriver and slid it under the bonnet and pressed it against the latch release and give the screwdriver a good whack and that freed the latch so the bonnet could open.. then I lubed the latch like crazy and it's been working ever since

Getting code H 3

The printer repair guy just left. I'm paraphrasing what he told me:

The Sharp MX4501N was displaying the error: H3-04. This does mean that the printer was reading an above average temperature for the fuser, for some reason.

He said that in his experience, 90% of the time, this is due to power surges/spikes and not an actual incident of the fuser over heating. A good surge protector isn't normally enough and he recommended that we look around for a cheap UPS to condition the power.

Other things that can cause a higher than average reading of the fuser can be caused by paper jams, where a piece or pieces of the paper are lodges inside, insulating the fuser and restricting air flow to the internal compnents. Printing 15-25 blank sheets through the copier can usually dislodge these. If not, call for assistance.

In order to clear the error code (H3-04) from possible powewr surges/pikes, I was given the following code: #P, *, C, 1,4 PRINT
This will remove most of the codes restricting printing to the copier, however, should the code reappear, contact customer service and arrange for a visit from the local repair person.

I hope this helps anyone else who may run in to the same problemThe error: H3-04. This does mean that the printer was reading an above average temperature for the fuser, for some reason.
