If it did not come with the camera, contact Canon customer support - there is a good chance they send it for free.

I just purchased a SVP MP300 camera/camcorder/mp3 player. I loaded the Media Impressions software by Arcsoft that came with the device but when I open the software and plug the camera into the USB port,...

first take a look on the disk that came with it ..and look for the driver ...not just the program ...The driver need to be on the disk and probably install itself separately and is the software that will make it visible in my computer folder as storage device ..or in that program you mentioned..I looked for the driver on the net but I need the manufacturer name to locate it ..if it is available ..so I lean to think it came with the disk ..or in a separate one ..The idea is the driver makes the communication between pc and device ..and the program will operate the actual download or so ..You can also download them by copy paste from the folder present in My computer area after the driver installation ...If a driver is not present anywhere on the disk (s) from the box...let me know the manufacturer name and I will try to locate on e..(by the way also let me know the operation system you use..
Try anyway to change the usb port you inserted it into ..and restart the computer cause most newly cams and players do not need driver and just install themselves auto ..and are visible as a removable drive (just like a memory unit in my computer ..and you can copy files from its memory without any program ) or ...if you are using windows 7 ..look on the task bar and see if there is any icon present after inserting it ...if it is use it and download stuff using windows features..
let me know what you managed to do ..

I just brought a Sony DCR-DVD803E camcorder but it didnt come with a driver disk(as I brought it second hand). I need the software that lets you put media onto your computer from the camcorder using a USB...

You can get replacement software for your camera by going to the manufacturers website and downloading it (http://www.sony.com) and then installing it to your pc.

Make sure the camera is not connect to the pc, go to that website click on support and then download drivers and/or software. Enter your camera make and model and then choose your operating system. Download the software and install it. Reboot the pc, then connect the camera and it should auto recoginize it if it was installed correctly. After that just follow the prompts to download pics from your camera.

Good luck!

I have a dcr-sr200 and have 7 hrs worth of video to burn that took about five hours. But when I check it the time date stamp did not appear. I can seem to figure it out . please help

I understand that you have burned the videos to a disc using Computer and the burned videos does not have the date and time on it. In order to get date and time on videos taken using the Hard Disk Camcorder, the video should transfer using A/V interface with the DATA CODE option on the Camcorder enabled.

Once you enable DATA CODE, the date and time will be shown when playing videos in the Camcorder. You can view when you connect the Camcorder directly to a TV. While using the A/V interface with Computer to capture videos using an Analog Video Capture Software like Windows Movie Maker, you will get the videos in Computer with date and time displayed. You can burn those videos using a burning software.

If you're using stand alone DVD Recorder, you can enable the DATA CODE and use the A/V interface to connect the Camcorder to the DVD Recorder to get the date and time on videos.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know for clarifications. You can also give more information about the recording method you're using to give more specific instructions.

I have Vivitar DVR 518,I recieved from Newport Pleasure coupons in about Nov. 2010. I cut into the package, but didn't realize it had a CD in it. Also,I need intructions for my camcord and need to know...

The DVR 518 uses SD and SDHC cards up to 8GB in size.

You can download the manual and request the software from the manufacturer's web site at
http://www.vivitar.com/products/2/digital-video-recorders/361/dvr-518

The best way to download videos from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy videos from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any video cataloging program.

I require a link to download the software for a Panasonic NV-GS25 video camera to be able to transfer from tape to DVD/PC

As you may know, the Panasonic website has only the update files for the MotionDV Studio LE software that came with the camcorder. However, this DV camcorder has a Firewire connector. You just need ANY video editing software, the right Firewire cable (4 or 6 pin, or 4+6 pin cable), and a Firewire port (add a card to your computer , if it doesn't already have Firewire, aka IEEE 1394A).
  • Apparently, Vista and Win7 on many newer PC's come with something like Movie Maker. Mac OS X has iMovie. Both support Firewire devices.
  • DVD burners and computers with DVD burners usually come with some kind of burner software. Sometimes, they have a basic (Lite) video editing package - examples include Nero, Roxio, and Ulead. Even at the "Lite Edition" level, these video editing packages work with Firewire camcorders.

I have a sony handycam hdr-cx7. I am able to download/save the still images, but can't figure out how to get the hd videos off the camera.

ok, when you have a High def camcorder like this one it only holds Memory sticks... at the end when you connect the camcorder to the computer the memory stick is recognized aswell for the still images, but the videos are not becuase the format of the videos are AVCHD, wich is just compatible with certain softwares, the camcorder comes with the software it is called "Picture Motion browser", if you dont have the disk you can download it from here http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=HDRCX7, software is compatible with Windows XP and Vista OS but not for Macintosh ok!. Once you connect the camcorder the " USB Select" or " USB connect" will come up, so you will select it and once the software is installed it'll do everything for you.
Hope this would be helpfull.
If you have problems just let me know i work for Sony camcorder support.

Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9 movie downloading and DVD burning

I always recommend having a version of your users manual on your computer, because it is so much easier to search through the manual quickly to find what you are looking for.

You can find a digital version of the users manual for the Sanyo CG9 here, and you will also find the free software for downloading videos to your computer and watching them there.

Once your videos are on your computer, you can burn a data disc without any commercial software. Some DIVX or XVID dvd players will play these data disks and you can watch your movies like that. An .MP4 data DVD will hold much more video than a standard DVD video disk because it squeezes it much tighter. You can play your .mp4 videos through a PS3 using a data dvd or a thumbdrive.

If you want to convert your mp4 videos to a standard dvd that will play in any dvd player, you will need commercial conversion software such as ULead MovieFactory or Nero Vision. MovieFactory was included with some sanyo camcorders, but if you have lost your disk, they do not allow you to download it from their website.

I hope that helps!

Dvd software for my Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9

You can write a data dvd that will play on any DIVX or XVID dvd player that supports this format:

" ISOstandard MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (AAC audio)."

Some Blue-Ray players play this format, like Sony's PS3. The PS3 will play these videos from a thumbdrive.

Some Sanyo camcorders ship with a disk containing commercial software to convert your .MP4 videos to standard dvd video, such as Ulead MovieFactory. If you have lost your disk, Sanyo will not allow you to download it from the website. I cannot recommend where to download commercial software, such as MovieFactory or Nero Vision.

Got video on to computer what do i download to edit it.

The Sanyo CG9 Website will provide you with the free tools you need to view your videos on your computer. The website will not allow you to download commercial software like Ulead MovieFactory that may have come on disks with your camera. If you have your disks, this is the software you will use to edit your clips smaller or make DVD video disks.
I cannot recommend where to download commercial software.

If you don't have the original sanyo cd's try and google "free mp4 editor".

How to make a camcorder with a webcam

You will need:

A Camcorder (Firewire or Analog)
A Firewire Card (For Firewire Camcorder)
A Video Capture Card or TV Tuner (For an Analog Camcorder)

A way to connect the Camcorder to the corresponding cards.

The Eagletron TrackerCam Software.
Go to trackerCamhttp://www.trackercam.com/TCamWeb/download.htm
to download it, it is a free download. You need additional hardware to get full use of the software, but for a basic webcam this software is enough.Active WebCam captures images up to 30 frames per second from any video device including USB, analog cameras, TV-boards, camcorders, and from network IP cameras.

The program performs simultaneous recording and broadcasting from unlimited number of cameras.

WebcamDV allows you to have "the best quality webcam in the world:"

If you own a DV camcorder, or are about to buy one, wouldn't it be cool if you could use all its features by making it the world's best web cam? Imagine, a webcam with 600X zoom, auto focus, stereo sound, auto stabilizing, night vision, high quality optics, and more, depending on your camcorder.

DVDriver lets you iuse your camcorder as if it were a regular webcam:

DVdriver is a software tool that lets you use your camcorder with any software that works with webcams. It works by fooling Windows into thinking that your camcorder is just an ordinary USB webcam.

Use your camcorder with the full range of webcam software available today. Just plug your camcorder into your PC's Firewire port, run DVdriver and start the software you want to use.
